So...what do we think?
Even though this is an early trailer, it doesn't look like we're seeing anything we haven't seen in the Sam Raimi films...

So, at the moment, my response is "meh", solely because it doesn't look like anything new...

It looks like what I wanted the other Spider-Man films to be, Tobey Macguire never quite gelled for me. He's a good actor, but they directed and wrote him to be a complete fucking pussy.

Andrew Garfield seems far more suited to the role, and he's a great actor. And Martin Sheen's in it!

WAY TOO EARLY for another take on Spider-man. Goes to show theres little creativity n' risk talking these days. So such n' such was successfull, lets just do the same, to make money. On the other I like the POV shot at the end, that bit really appealled to me. I'm skeptical, but a wee bit hopeful.

Oooh, Emma Stone, I can't wait.

As far as I can tell this looks like it will be better than the original. I just hope they cast Alfred Molina as Doc Oc.

I remember hearing the new Spider-Man was supposed to have 2099 in it?? Oh well.

This looks cool though and I'll be sure to watch it. I hated Tobey Macguire as Spider-Man, he didn't suit the role at all imo.

For a movie only made to keep the rights to Spider-Man, it doesn't look too bad. Stylistically I love it, and Garfield looks natural as Peter Parker. So I'm staying optimistic.

I do have a feeling however, that the general audience will be confused as they just saw this movie ten years ago.

Character in trailer feels very 1-dimensional and the last scene felt very fake.

Not impressed so far.

Its too early for a Spider-Man reboot and those god awful POV shots in the trailer are only making me not want to see this movie. Plus its another origin story and I'm really not interested in seeing that again. Also the Sam Raimi films weren't bad enough to warrant a reboot this quickly. I'd rather have seen Raimi's Spider-Man 4 that fixed all that he did wrong in 3 than a reboot.

From this trailer it looks like they're going for an alternate version of him,so it's more like Ultimate Spider-Man instead of Amazing,to separate it from the Raimi films because the 3rd wasn't good enough(emo Peter),but remember that a lot of critics LIKE this movie.Sam Raimi only quit because the supposed premiere date of the 4th didn't give him enough time to come up with an awesome movie with original ideas.
BTW,what's with all the Tobey hate?He was awesome.Granted,he could be a little old for a high school student, but whatever. His wimpiness wasn't terrible writing,it was how he was in the comics and the cartoons before he got his powers. In the new movie he looks 'cool' BEFORE he got his powers, like wearing un-nerdy clothes and having a decent haircut, rarely using glasses(and when he DOES use them they're more like Hipster glasses anyway),etc.

I'm usually very forgiving with movie adaptations, but i hate HATE HATE(!) this trailer.

It's just not Spiderman to me. It's some weird The Dark Knight Thing. Hell, it could be a slasher movie trailer if you cut the Mirror's Edge Part.

All these Daddy Issues and brooding and angsting and the moody-to-dark lighting (wich will also be great for 3D screenings of the movie) just pissed me off.
Sure, Spiderman/Peter Parker has issues, hell, he get's constantly f**cked by fate. But still, Spiderman, for me, always was optimistic and positive. Peter Parker is troubled, sure, but he overcomes that because he is SPIDERMAN, and also awesome. And he was never about punching villians the hardest, he was about irritating them with quips and lame puns.
He was, in a word, comic-booky.

And not every comic adaption needs to be all gritty and sober.

(P.S. For those who are interested, i only sorta-liked Spiderman 2 and hated the third, but i think despite it's problems and the really lame villian Raimi's Spiderman 1 got it just about right.)

It looks a little darker and grittier then the more light hearted Raimi films. But still, it looks like it's got a good cast and so there's potential at least that it might be good.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Looks like someones been playing Mirror's edge.
My thought exactly.

OT: I'm sorry, but this new actor doesn't really look the part for me. Toby McGuire wasn't great for the role either, but this guy looks almost like a cross between that Twilight guy (Aka Cedric) and Ryan Reynolds. Physically...he doesn't look the part of Peter to me. Meh...hopefully his performance will change my mind, but the trailer doesn't seem to be showing off any particular skill.

I really hope they don't go to first person every time he is web swinging. The preview of that looked very, very unnatural. As I've seen others comment, pulled from a video game circa 2007.

I just don't think we need another take on Spiderman so soon. Also, do we really need to retell the origin story? It has been nine years since the first Spiderman movie.

I really want this movie to be good, I'm a fan of Spiderman, but I just have little faith in this being a great movie at this point. Maybe things will improve closer to the release date.

At least, keep this movie out of a jazz club.

It looks alright, I mean, I loved the Sam Raimi trilogy despite some of its obvious downfalls, and this looks like it's just re-telling the same story we've all heard and or read about 100 times before.

It kind of look idie to me for some reason and the fps part look more so fake (look like game graphic). Regardless I will be watching it to give my proper opinions on it.
