How about a Battalion Wars Grunt, or small party thing like they did with Olimar
I'd like to see Lloyd from T of S and maybe Mithos - my idea is that you need at least one hero and one villain from game series. Mithos could be a psychic like character.
Could include King K. Rool, probably his form in DK 64
maybe the black knight from Fire Emblem since they have Ike
they should take out Toon Link and every pokemon except pikachu and mewtwo. For me, jigglypuff was just a filler character that was terrible to play as and only a kirby copy.
they should include megaman, zero, and bass since they've been in quite a few nintendo games.
and maybe Ray 001 from Custom Robo as well as Rahu.
maybe for an not too norm character they could include Little Nemo - could toss candy at characters, they slowly fall asleep and he could gain their powers like kirby in a way.
that's about all I can think of now

Ridley, Mewtwo, Roy, Waluigi, Louie, Funky Kong, Banjo and Kazooie, and any of the ally bounty hunters in Metroid Prime 3.
Needs more alt costumes though... Instead of the single character who got one.
Toon Zelda and the Fierce diety would be cool (Even if it was just alt costumes for regular zelda and link.)

I think they should focus on expanding the rosters for the franchises they already have included, instead of shovelling in new ones. Samus and Captain Falcon have both been in the games from the start and have been the only playable characters from their respective series' all this time. Both franchises have plenty of characters to choose from, so it's not like they're stuck for ideas.
i second mega man, i think you could do some cool stuff with him as a character, and i would also like them to make a team rocket pokeball! have jesse or james pop out and make em do something weird that randomly blows up a section of the playing field
