Then every FPS in the future will try to be like Duke Nukem and thus begins the cycle of "heres something fresh lets copy it till we can find a new fresh idea"
By that logic no game should ever be successful as to prevent a cycle of copycat games. So, only mediocre games from now on because we don't want that to happen. Sure come people may copy game aspects of more popular games, but new things will always be explored.

The things I did like was that Duke got knocked off his feet when hit hard. You don't see that much in an FPS. Hell the fact that he even has legs is somewhat new. Also, it looked like it was being played on a 360. On the PC it'll be much easier to draw wangs and boobies on the whiteboard with a mouse.

I'm ready for another testosterone fueled alien kill-fest with Duke,.

LIES! Duke Nukem will never come out!

OT: Looks amazing :D Really glad to see it get revived looking forward to spending hours of time on a whiteboard. Mario Paint can be thrown away now also waiting for the gravy gun and the smooth movement between RTS and FPS. ZP never lies!

Nah Im not blaming the success of a game for the way the industry is, Im blaming developers for jumping in a bandwagon of seeing a fresh idea and just copying it and then all the games start to do it and it then starts to make it stale.

Like last decade we had a bunch of unrealistic shooters and then someone made a "realistic" shooter and most future shooters started to jump in to "realism".

There needs to be a same amount of unrealistic and realistic shooters in the market so that people wont get bored.

I'll be honest here: I like Duke Nukem. I love playing DN-3D, even with the crappy graphics (nostalgia plays a big part, so does the fact that for a long time, it was the best my PC could run... in 2006). DNF looks awesome, I'll admit.
The problem is that it LOOKS awesome. It doesn't look like anything new is brought to the table here. You can punch - there's a new feature, but you could kick in the last two games, and bugger all's changed, apart from an animation of melee combat. Your health meter is now an 'ego' meter. If I was to really get fussy, the boss of the last game is recycled in this one, stage and all.
But, hell. I've waited 12 years for this bloody thing to come out, and if I've waited for a higher quality version of DN-3D, then I've waited for a better quality version of DN-3D. It's not gonna make me not want to play it, and it's not gonna stop me from at least trying to like it.

meh, my eyes didn't melt, explode, etc. so I guess it'll be just a really good game and not the greatest 12 year in the making game ever made. And I would have Duke be playing on PS3 not 360.

About all I can take from this is that Duke has a penis on each kneecap.

Well, pardon me while I go to r- ... a certain web site.

Has anyone noticed that most people who demo the game (like at E3 and stuff) SUCK? I just don't understand it.
I don't get it either, but it's also true of the majority of Gamespot's gameplay videos. Maybe every controller in their office is broken or something.

Here it's way worse than gaming journalists screwing up because that was presumably a dev who actually works on the game. Someone that, you would assume, has at least a basic understanding of what they are doing.

Wow, it looks........bad. I still honestly cant see anything coming out of this game other than just another overhyped FPS.
This. Drawing and pissing arent fun game mechanics.
THATS A LIE!!!

It worked in Drawn to Life(Scriblenauts or whatever) and it worked in Stubs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse!!!!!

Not but it's going to take a literal blow job from twins to make me content. Otherwise they shouldn't of resurrected this poor creature. Also they will need to add something interesting to there weapons arsenal otherwise i'll play Serious Sam or break out the Xbox and play Metal Arms.

I think I saw health regenerate. I am suddenly not interested.
Actually, if you look hard enough, it's not a health meter. It's an ego meter. My guess is that it only recharges after you deal damage. If not, they still have time to change it.
