Grosssssssssss!

Seems like every fan of Futurama is upset. It's a very obvious and cheap ploy to tap into the emotional attachment everyone has to that episode. This will do nothing but sully the previous episode.

Why would you do that?! Why would any sane human being ruin that perfect episode and defile Seymore's memory like this?

Futurama writers, I am officially Disappoint!

You guys should relax, it's just a dream. . . Literally, it says in the article that Seth will voice Seymour in Fry's dream. Doesn't seem like a problem to me. Where were you guys when they retconned away the sad ending in Bender's big score.

... okay, I didn't see anywhere in the linked article where it said it was a dream-sequence, so I'll cling to hope and take your word for it.
And Bender's Big Score may have softened the blow, but it didn't fundamentally change the character dynamics. Seymore was still Seymore. (and for that matter, with all the paradoxes, can we be sure that it didn't all happen in some alternate time-line?)

I will withheld my judgement about this until I watched the actual episode itself.

They've already beaten that episode to a bloody pulp with one of those shitty movies, this will just be finishing the job.

I just don't want Seth MacFarlane to ever be associated with Futurama.

Please don't... No, please. I wanted those two to be as far apart as possible. I despise Family Guy and I haven't seen anything from Seth that made me even chuckle. I really don't want this.
As far as I can tell he's not writing anything, he's just voice acting. Regardless of how bad Seth MacFarlane's stuff is, he's still a pretty good voice actor.

As long as they keep him well away from those involved with the writing alongside the writing itself.
If only a voice is provided, it's okay. If I were to give Seth Mac-F any compliment at all it would be that his VA skills are good if not only decent. Would definitely be passable in the world of Futurama, just so long as it isn't his horrid Peter Griffin voice.

Okay, I need someone here to help find me a track that truly represents how "meh" I am to these news.

The fact that people are going to Seth MacFarlane to do voices in their shows just reveals the sad and sorry state of animation geared towards older audiences.

To be fair, while his writing varies, his got some decent voice acting chops, so this may not end as horribly as people expect.

I haven't heard an idea this bad since "pop culture reference" did "random activity".

Well that would be the worst case scenario, that futurama just gets a ton of jokes like that above, but seems Seth is just going to appear in frys dream and voice a "fake" dream seymour. Thats ok, right?

So now its cool to hate on Seth MacFarlane? I get that you may not like his humor but even his voice acting skills?

Seth McFarlane sang the theme song to the fourth Futurama movie, so he's already been involved.

I can see the dry McFarlane voice as a dog in a trippy dream sequence to be amusing, so I shall withhold judgement.

Seymour has already appeared in other places than that epic tear jerk of heartrending pain. It's probably part of a drug trip, alternative dimension, mind screw, dream or some other weirdness, no doubt it'll work in context, not that the context will necessarily make sense.

This is Futurama, have a little faith damnit!

Not that I've been an avid watcher of Futurama, but when I've seen it, I've enjoyed it. Putting Seth MacFarlane in there is just gross, that tosser doesn't need to go around ruining other animations now, Christ.
