EDIT 2: Am I the only one who was hoping that if there was any chance in hell there would be another inFamous game that the main protagonist would be a female conduit?
nope! it feel slike somthing that owuld definetly work for the infamou series

right now I like ot pretend that we actually play as that shady governemnt lady..she gets powers and "OH NO I'M AN OUTLAW NOW"

that would be awsome (as likley as us making contact with alines tomorrow...but awsome)

off topic but I've just been playing DMC and Dante really isnt as insufferable as he might...compared to nathan drake he's practically stephen fry

...ugh. Considering how the trailer seems to indicate that slaughtering the police (who are only doing their jobs and trying to keep order) BS.
this is somthing that really annoys me too

when in thease things..games or movies the good guys HAVE to slaughter police or even solders it makes me uncomfortable

the totalitarianism seems to be the result of a government agency swearing to never let the events of Empire City, New Marais and The Beast happen again. Its dedicated to stopping 'Bioterrorism', which seems to mean the development of Conduit powers, which most likely leads to morally questionable results.
ugggghhh....shady government experiments....even better :(

Ok, sure, it's familiar territory in the "corrupt government conspiracy" field. Though from what little we can see from the trailer, the execution looks rather different. I'm interested.

Edit: What makes the maintenance of order (more specifically the previous order.) more important than the desire for people who happen to have powers to live?
Well, the right for people without powers (who make up the vast majority of the population) to live would probably counter that.

Over the course of the series there are only a handful of conduits who are using their powers to help people (one of them being dependent on moral choices), with the vast majority being shown as either attacking people at random, or having no aversion to collateral damage. Happened in Empire City with the Reapers, Dust Men, First Sons, Sasha, Alden, Etc. Happened in New Marais, with the Vermaak 88, and the beast. These guys were all responsible for massive death tolls and damage, and it is quite possible that if all conduits in those cities spontaneously dropped dead, the amount of deaths from that would be far less than the amount of deaths caused by their continued existence.

Sure you could say that not all conduits are like that, but the facts are: The government simply does not know which conduits would try to help society, and which would rather turn it into a smoking crater. The only way to be sure is to either capture or kill the conduits they find. Especially since with the massive amount of power conduits have, allowing them to run free would have equal potential for disaster as giving every citizen a nuclear warhead (and ability to detonate it).

I hope this shall be a spin-off, or a "What if" scenario, as messing with anything to do with the original games two stories would be ruining a perfectly good story.

Well, two perfectly good stories, actually.
Well, I hear its going to be 7 years after the events of infamous 2.

That already worries me because the new protagonist is clearly older than 7 years.

I'm with you on this one. I loved infamous 1 & 2 for being a rare sandbox game with great story.

edit: When I knew it was going to be infamous, I hoped it would set itself really far apart from original series. Like 20 - 30 years.

Didn't the choice at the end of InFamous 2 make this game impossible? Or is this a different reality and all that?

Has anyone entertained the idea that the probable protagonist shown in the trailer goes through a moral progression and serious change throughout the game? I doubt the developers would step away from the duality of the moral choice system when that was partially why the original games were titled "Infamous" in the first place, especially when it is a cheap way to get two play throughs. But think about it, his fire/smoke powers are red, which always implies "bad" in video games. But as fire gets hotter, it turns blue, which is an implied "good" color. So I'm guessing they will tie that in with the story. Possibly, as you get stronger you may have the choice to go good, or stay an angsty dick.

Just for the record I love Infamous, I platinumed both and even though I think this is a TERRIBLE trailer, I'd be lying if I said I didn't want another Infamous. But as much as I love Cole, a direct sequel with him as the protagonist just doesn't make sense because the ending of Infamous 2 is airtight. Now an Infamous prequel where you play as "Kessler" Cole before he goes back in time would be interesting, especially if you build up to the desperation only to meet your final demise at the hands of 20 something you, but it would be very much a stretch.
