I agree that a lot of the ideas would make the game mechanic unplayable, but you could equally balance it out by enhancing the survivors in some way. I think the Hunter wall cling idea would actually work in the current game mechanic, since I think they're only really useful when all hell breaks loose. Also, you could share the tank spawn with another special infected, or rotate the infected between a larger pool of opportunist ones, keeping the boomer as standard.

I like the idea of a wolf-like zombie of some sort, or perhaps a new game mode where the wolves are hunting you and you gotta get your sorry ass out of there quicksmart.

That actually sound like something i really would love to play. It would definitely add a new dimension to playing the infected, sitting upside down on a roof waiting for the survivors, you would feel like a ninja, just a mutated one with many limbs.

Wouldnt be too great in open sections like last level blood harvest but it could still be fun to play.

Personally, I'd love to see an infecte dthat's a direct counter to closet camping, and genrally sticking together like you have been sewed to eachother's bodies. This can either be done with a suicide bomber, who can explode on command, or an infecte dwho shoots acid on an area, damaging anyone who stays in the particaular area.

If I was to change an existing one, I'd give the Boome rthe ability to blow himself up and spew stomach acid all over the place, making the entire area damage people in it for like 1 minute. Perhaps in exchange for his melee attack (as it's useless anyways).

I agree. Maybe like a pack of harpy type enemies. Easy to shoot down but would provide a cool "You guys watch the ground, I got these flying bitches" moment. Once a player is caught the others have to shoot him down quickly or he'll die from the impact.

A zombie bigger than the Tank and looks like a mix between a boomer and a tank and is called
The Bulldozer
and he comes out between the 1st and 4th chapter to speed up the process to find the safe house
and can't die

So wait, do you want to be able to place the witch? Really, your turn would consist of finding a spot and spawning. Then you'd sit and cry until someone shoots you in the back of the head. May be useful for very patient players, but most people would pick a lame spot, then whine because they did zero damage on their witch spawn.
When you controlled the witch it wouldn't be like an ordinary witch, you could spawn and move anywhere just like other zombies no being glued to the floor.

Actually I kind of like the idea of a flamer. Perhaps he could sacrifice health to project flames by burning his own mass. Killing him makes him go off by the boomer and flame everything near him. However his attacks can also set other nearbye zombies on fire.

Or some sort of Spore infected that heals other zombies.

Infecting the survivors is a no go because they're immune.

They already had an idea for a special infected like that, called the screamer. It was going to be like the witch, non-playable. Anyways, they replaced it w/ the smoker's smoke ability to cut off team chat.
thats not even close what the screamer did the screamers power was to run and then scream calling in a horde. the screamer was scraped and his power became the boomer (who at this point only had his exploding power witch dealt major damage)

I'd like to see one whose actual job was to hit them and who ran really fast. Not as hard as the tank hits mind you, but basically all the special infected do is try to incap someone or, in the boomer's case, bring the horde onto them. Kinda like a tank sort of idea, but decent melee damage and ok hit points but fast running speed. And maybe the hits cause poison damage or bring down the horde or something. I'd probably call it a Charger or Sprinter or Slasher or something.

Other idea includes something like a hunter who moves really fast and steals items but can only steal one at a time. So you just run in, take a med pack or something, cheese it, then hide it somewhere.

As a side note, I hope to see Gears boomers in place of L4D boomers (and vice versa) on April 1st. Be interesting to see a L4D boomer in the unreal engine...

The melee attack is there so you can break through doors and mostly antagonize people to get them to shoot you. So it does have its use.

How about a zombie spider? It would be able to crawl around on walls and it would be able to web survivors to make them move slower. We could give it the ability to poison survivors through melee too if you don't think that that would make it over-powered.

Or maybe some sort of ranged attacker. Maybe it shoots peices of bone or works as a carrier for bats which are really weak but semi-plentiful. Or we could just take the one zombie from Hafl-Life 2 that throws poison headcrabs and reskin it.

The stealing items idea has merit, I think. One thing that has always annoyed me during a versus match is that you concentrate two or three well timed attacks and then the survivors who are near death get healed and find a medpac and you've got to start all over again with level distance running out. A stolen medpac here or there could be very interesting, although I think we'd get into territory where we'd need to boost the survivors in some way. It is hard enough to play them at the moment, the infected get all the interesting stuff.
