i was thinking of a dark creature that has the ability to shut off lights and has the abilty to lock doors either forcing you to break them or forcing you to find him and kill him

he could be like a puddle of dark ooze and whenever he used his power he would turn into a stalk with a head on it,

whenever he uses his power it could flow around the ground for a short distance so unless you find a small room it goes right back to him

edit: of course it won't be able to affect safehouse doors

The idea that one of the main survivors turning into a zombie sounds cool, but it would not work because the surviors are immune to the virus and this mode would kinda mess that up.

A cool special zombie idea that I had, was a zombie with a very large head that had a minour telekenetic ability and they could either use this ability to throw a survivour a certian distance, or force them to stand in one spot, immobile.

A siren, a women in a bloody old wedding dress a mutated lower jaw with the ability to scream an eerie song-like sound to take control of a passing player for about 10 seconds(within 10 feet of the target even through walls, floors) the siren body cant move when it controls the target and it cant make them shoot or jump to keep thing fair but it can still be useful at seperating the team and leading a player to a hunter of a which

I have an amazing idea that came to me while talking about this with my friends.
Throughout the game, you fail to see any children or teenagers or babies.
My first idea is "Toddlers" or "Orphans" I can't think of a good name, but It would be a small child infected that travel in groups and attack in packs. I kinda think the would look like the little sisters in Bioshock but there are boy ones too. The starting movie could be Zoey finding a child hiding behind a trash can then she tries to confort it, then it springs and attacks her, as this is happening, other emerge from inside the trashcans and broken windows and all jump on her....SWEET
The other idea i have is a teenager zombie, They would be called berserkers or something. They would be very emotional and have mood swings and if they were very angry they would go on a super berserker carnage fest on the nearest survior, but if they are feeling "happy" they would let you pass or call off hordes. Maybe the survivors could influence how they act, by giving up their pills or guns or health packs for them to play with it could be a way to make them "HAPPY"
And maybe also you could have kid zombies like a Child Boomer, smoker, hunter, witch,tank but they would all be weaker then their adult counterparts.And also all of the zomies look alike. All the hunters have the same jacket, all the boomers have the same shirt and all the witchs are in panties. they could change up the genders of them and give them different skins

what about a creature called 'thereallyannoyingonethatcantdie!' it bursts out of vents or whatnot and rips your legs off. the other surviviors then need to glue your legs back on before the cheezeburger people come and eat their faces.

Some kind of zombie which counters surivors croching in a corner together. Maybe a web shooting zombie who can pin down survivors and can pin multiple survivors if their all crouching in a group. His webs wouldnt do any damage but he can slow survivors down more than other special infected.

Just thought of one, kind of inbalanced so should only be used in certain time windows (like how the tank is spawned)
A really fast, really weak zombie that has the same power as the witch(instant-incap).

Should be used like a hit/run kinda thing, because you'll die too quickly if you mess around and you'll have wasted the opportunity. When used well the entire team could be incapped and unable to proceed.

I think it should spawn instead of the Tank occasionally just to fuck a team up XP

Some sort of webbing or mucus, thats a good idea.

im yet to see a creature like this in a game.
ok so a fast moving creature that can camouflage itselt onto walls and the ground.
and when it wants it constricts slowly increasing damage done (holding it by deformed tentical like arms and squeezing the player -1 damage every second for 10 seconds then 3 damage a second for 5 then 5 for 2.)
and it can move the player in the way of bullets and the tenticals can be either shot in half or to kill the actual constricter...

Strengths:Wont drop enemy to melee combat
Camouflage
Human shield
speed

Weakness: Easily scene in corridors,
light makes them more visable
once holding a player it cant move
easy to kill

Primary Attack:Constricting its prey
Secondary:whips its prey with tenticals making them move back for easy escape.

Something like a gears of war wretch, but that can move as fast as a 100 heatlh survivor and that does 20 damage a hit, but that only has a boomers health, it can regenerate health, though. Hit-and-RUN tactics

Mobile Witch = pwn

Also, The Shifter: Can stick to any surface, walls, ceiling, trees, and can turn invisible while standing still. his melee attack needs to be a little stronger than the hunter/smoker, since he can't do distance attacks, pounce/lick.

I personally wouldn't add new zombies to the game because the random spawns of zombie types can be a pain, more than once I've had to play infected and we started w/ 3 hunters and 1 smoker. Adding more would most likely just screw up the infected team, imagine if by some odds you didn't get a boomer for like 2-3 minutes because a player just didn't get to spawn as one. I personally want to see achievements to grant alternate options/perks to players, this imo could integrate some of the abilities people mentioned for new zombies into the current ones.
Example: Give hunters the ability to climb on anything but lose their damage from pounce, somewhat like how the TF2 weapons work.

Some of these ideas may be horribly unbalanced (I don't expect anyone to take these seriously) but they might be interesting to see:

The Shade: Imagine a 'stealth' zombie, she/he makes little noise when moving, blends into the enviroment when it remains still for a small time and uses a projectile barb/stinger attack. To emphasise the stealth bias of this zombie their health would have to be pathetic and their melee would be weak. (they would only appear during 'calm' moments when no other infected are present and would not be player-controllable)

The Bleeder: Throughout the game there are only two kinds of zombie who you are encouraged not to melee (those being the Tank and the Witch), the Bleeder would be a third one. The idea is that the bleeder woud be covered in glow in the dark acid blood that not only harms you when you melee/touch him but would leave an acidic trail wherever he goes (the idea would be that he would block off or trap the survivors so the rest of the horde can hunt them at leisure) other than that he would be completely harmless and reliant on the rest of the horde for protection.

The Mimic: This zombie would assume the identity of one of the survivors or another special infected and mingle with the real survivors. Once in range the Mimic can see the equipment/status of each survivor and eavesdrop on their voice conversations (in other words they would act like the Spy in Team Fortress 2).

Twins. Two faster zombies with big sharp claws or something terrifying like that. When you kill one, the other one becomes even faster and really pissed. Could be pretty scary if you kill one and don't know where the other one is.

An "Engineer" zombie that retains some human intelligence and builds traps out of stuff that is just laying around. Imagine two survivors being incapped by a falling car trap while the other two fight off the horde that is summoned by the car alarm.

A flying enemy might be cool if it picked you up and dropped you away from the group, but seeing as how I have always hated flying enemies--fuck this idea.
