Not a WW2 game, that God for that.

Modern Warfare? No thanks, I'm sick of it now.

Make it either medieval or futuristic!

I don't really care. Everyone's well within their rights to make a game in this time period. I don't really care if it's "derivative". By that same vein every game to outsell Wolf3D is "derivative".

i think MoH is worth looking into--if a better game isn't release within a month of it on either side, i may pick it up, i may not. by the time it releases, i may be tired of the MW2 multiplayer anyways.

besides, the fact that it's an MW2 'clone' is simply because that's what's proven to sell, and EA wants money just as much as activision wants money.

What's with the title? This has been said before - every long running movie- or game series must make a game with the exact same title as the original. Come on.
Also, that looks exactly like MW2.

I always thought medal of honor games were better than CoD games...
I just hope this one is no different...

Offline multiplayer was awesome... I hope they keep that in...

Wait, what? They're rebooting the franchise and are drastically changed the setting. How is this tired and old?

This. I'm looking forward to it immensley (sp?). Anyway, looks loads better than MW@. Also, you know what? It looks different. Just based off the trailer seems to be more small-scale based combat.

Sorry, I can't help but think of Modern Warfare 1 & 2.

That, and the biker looking dude at the end just bothers me.

Well I'm sick and tired of all these Modern warfare clone games, Modern Warfare is not even that great, but it sells well so I guess all developers and publishers decide to make it like MW, oh I'm so bored of it.

Here is hoping that the PS3 version of MOH will implement the SixAxis control based "lean-peek" mechanism that worked oh so perfectly in MOH: Airborne.

Well to be fair, it's less ripping off MW2... more a case of BOTH games "ripping off" REAL world conflicts like Chechnya, Iraq, Afghanistan and so on... oh course with their own spin on each but the inspiration is clear.

But why does everyone consider Infinity Ward's attempts at modern warfare to be the "original"... I mean you could just as easily say Modern Warfare 2 is a rip off of Battlefield 2!

I say go for it EA, Infinity Ward doesn't deserve a monopoly, they have no claim to the intellectual property of the concept of "First Person war shooter set in the recent time period".

And this really is a case of Role-Reversal, Medal of Honor reigned king over World War 2 shooters till the Call of Duty franchise game along where it was INCREDIBLY derivative but that wasn't a problem as - well - Call of Duty was doing the same thing but BETTER. Now who could object to that?

Now Infinity Ward have kicked off almost it's own genre with "modern warfare", now MOH franchise want back in and I sure as hell think they deserve the chance.

The same way the first CoD managed to beat the old MoH's... even though people at the time said it was a rip off.

Wait till it comes out 'till you judge it for being set in the same time period.
Dude, the time period was little to do with my opinion, let me just run you through some of the stuff from the trailer:

A squad of men arrive at a door, and they surround it before one of them kicks it in. There is a hostage in a room, and you run in and have to kill the defender before he kills you or the hostage. A flying mission (wasn't in CoD, but I'm trying to be fair here). You shooting a man in a wartorn, sandy area. You shooting people through thermal sights on an (or at least very similar view and stuff to an) AC-130 gunship. You driving on a quadbike with a ridiculously similar view to the snowmobile. You running through an area using night vision goggles. A body being pushed into a pit. Then it's pretty much the end and I'm tired of writing.

I don't mind a game copying another one, but if that's apparently it's only selling point, then I'm worried.
Things like the AC-130, and the night vision goggles are aspects present in plenty of modern themed games, and it would be ridiculous to leave them out, just because "Call of Duty did it". I know there's similarities, but they coincidental and can't be helped most of the time. I think the differences will far outweigh them, the main thing being that the gameplay and feel of it will most likely be very different.
Thank you VERY much. Just because something was in CoD, doesn't mean that it is off limits for life. These people are basically just saying, "Oh, it is a shooter set in the modern period, so it has to be a rip off of Modern Warfare."

I think it looks pretty cool, and I think it's a bit premature to call it a CoD: MW clone. Thankfully for all of us, the game isn't set in WWII :)

The fact of the matter is that I don't know bout the actual finished product enough at the moment to form an opinion.

by having dedicated servers? (will they? Will it be for PC at all? I hope so) The fact that its a MW2 clone will not stop people from buying it, just like console-like matchmaking didnt kill MW2

its all about the hyping and the publicity.
So far, I think dedicated have been confirmed. Not that it matters to me, I'm a console man myself, but hey, no reason not to bring good news to someone.
