After months of watching the same countdown and a long, hard 30 hour livestream filled with dancing, J-pop, epic ruses, endless moon speak, 8888888888888888, delays, more dancing, and Teddie never shutting his trap, Atlus have finally released the new trailer for Persona 5 at the end of the Persona concert.

Along with a poster displaying the protagonist and what is most likely his persona.

Unfortunately they did not reveal a more specific release date, simply showing '2015'.

Update: http://www.siliconera.com/2015/02/05/exclusive-persona-5-blu-ray-included-first-print-copies-persona-4-dancing-night/

First run copies of P4: Dancing All Night will contain a blu-ray with Persona 5 content. Considering P4:DaN releases June 25 we can expect P5 to be released sometime afterwards.

Update 2: Some words from P5 director Katsura Hashino.
http://www.siliconera.com/2015/02/05/persona-5-producer-shares-thoughts-trailer-characters/

Also, Famitsu will have info on P5 in their next issue.

Well ... pardon me.

*Faints*

In all seriousness, I like what I see.
And I don't blame everything for hyping the damn thing even more.
I have been looking over the video for more details ... I'll probably miss many, so hopefully some people can fill in those blanks. :p

- MC is a master thief with damn good style.
- Transforming cat mascort characters (shadow?)
- Tsundere (princess-like?) character.
- Bro character is punk. Seems to be like Kanji.

- All characters become criminals somehow.
- Cafe/main base (like Junes).
- Dungeons will be like heists (the map in the cafe).
- We will play much more of each day. It looks like it won't simply skip to school each morning.
- Life seems more lively. With more people, and such events as getting chalk thrown at you.

- More action out of battle gameplay. Involving stealth elements and platforming.
- MC uses guns. (finally we can use guns for battle).
- Personas come from masks (?)
- MC doesn't need mask.

EDIT:
- Twin Velvet Room assistants.
- Igor is even more creepy.
- It's in a jail cell/interrogation room.

Excellent observations! Guns also seemed to be a separate thing from weapons. A new type of evoker perhaps? Also, it looks you'll be fighting demons/personas instead of the shadows like you did in P3 & 4. No confirmation of Social Links in the pause menu, but instead something that says "cooperation" which might be a variation of the system.

Really digging the style, UI and what we've been showed of the dungeons so far (looks faaaaaaaaaaar more interesting than the boring design found in the previous games). The fact that you play with what is essentially Tuxedo Mask just adds another layer of awesome on top of it.

@StormShaun: Added things I noticed.
-The twins both have eye-patches and I assume are girls.
-MC's body physically turns into his Persona, kinda like Digital Devil Saga.
-They are fighting Demons/Personas.
-There is a fourth human member of the team that has a tail at the 40 second mark. He didn't show up in combat though.
-I'm assuming Luxuria is the name of the cat and it's apparently independent and can transform into an anthro-chibi cat.
-The date was always at April 11th which is VERY similar to the last 2 games' starting point.

Got nothing to add outside it looks great as expected.

Naoto uses a gun... unless you mean just the main. Personas before 3 also had everyone using guns.
Good observations though.

I'm still thinking the mask is pretty much the way to summon personas.
But that's also a good point, fighting demons and personas.
Though if we fight Personas, I'm hoping we get to fight other persona users as well.

As for that cooperation thing, I didn't notice that before, but I'm hoping it's a more in-depth social link system. I mean social links were a big damn part of Persona 4, so I'm hoping that they have expanded upon that, and that developing relationships with others will take more time than just a cut-scene. Like it would be pretty awesome to have a dating system for the romance. :p

And yes, the style looks really fucking awesome.
It adds to the tone of the game. Though I'm wandering what the twist will be. I mean in terms of "the TV world" and "The Dark Hour". You saw the MC in a jail cell and prison uniform, so I'm thinking it's something to do with that.

With the MC, I actual think he looks like a anime character.

I don't remember a Persona game (that I've played at least) that allowed the protagonist to use a gun.
And boy, he sure used that gun in the trailer.

I think the story might actually focus on the concept of doppelgangers. Somebody looking like the MC goes around committing crimes and you team up to find who it is. Since the whole theme, according to the creative director, is about breaking out of the chains and shackles of mundane life, the doppelgangers could be manifestations of the main characters repressed feelings and urges for adventure, excitement and the urge to break away from society's rules and regulations. The id to their Ego, or something along the lines. The whole thematic use of the masks and the fact that what we see at the end of the trailer looks like an evil incarnation of the MC, ties in pretty well with the Jungian themes and ideas behind the Persona series. Confronting him would allow the MC to use the mask and control and summon his persona at will. The fact that we also see the MC trapped in what appears to be a jail cell, kind of reaffirms the feeling of a persecution complex or sense of being oppressed and imprisoned.

That's just my 2 cents though.

Someone translated the part at 1:57 which supposedly has all the trailer characters' names. One of them is 'Morgana' which is most likely the cat. Also, 'luxuria' is Latin for 'lust', and all the other words in that scene are the other cardinal sins.

The protagonists in the first two game used them, and so did Aigis in P3: The Answer.

Gun usage was pretty high in the old games. Though I suppose you're only talking about the newer ones.

Yeah, I'll admit that I'm not exactly a fan whose played the older games (or The Answer), which I should get to hopefully at one point.
So you could them in those games. I wonder if it's any different in P5? (Like as in if there will be different models and such)

Not bad.
I haven't exactly though up of my own theory, so I'll give it a thought.
There is a lot to learn about the game though, I can imagine how many theories people will think up until they show another trailer. :p

That is the most stylish thing I think I've seen so far this year. No doubt the soundtrack will be amazing as always. I'll be breaking the pre-order rule for this baby.

So, we might play as a criminal who uses his Persona for selfish gains? Maybe I'm reading a little too much into that...

More like somebody who breaks taboos and the law to pursue their own idea of "justice" or something along the lines.
