Or how about guys who control their bone structure and mass?

Nah, I'm afraid not. The writers I'm talking about are rather unheard of outside of Eastern Europe. But I figured that there should be at least a few people here that might recognize it =(

Another clue: In the original (not in English), that race was called Golovans (Or at least that's what it sounds like)

Well I just wiki'd the Golovans they sound rather interesting, I may have to look them up

I wasn't 100% it was him anyway Because the dog in Dr Bloodmoney was deformed but not psychic he could talk after a fashion though.

I have an idea! how about a RPG that lets you create your own race! With a much more powerful version of the Creature Creator! You would be able to set its base attributs and special abilities.
The storyline could be that you are the last of an ancient race, trying to discover what happened to the rest of your people.

Shadowmers.

I don't know if this has been done, but I'll give a description of the image that just popped into my head.

A race of people who have merged with shadow. They would have the bone and muscle structure of an ordinary human, but they would appear as a smokey shadow. Their skin would whisp and smoke, and move constantly. It would be pure black, and their eyes would be totally white. They would have a higher limit of pain than 'normal' people, because of their inconsistency. They would mostly consist of thieves, assassins and an odd magician, because they could blend into shadow, with the exeption of their eyes, who would remain white.

meh, sounds kind of cheezy.

I have actually made up a fantasy universe that contains (to give an example of the more exotic ones):

Arachnids. Human sized sentient spider-esque beings. Walks on four legs.

Orcs. With a Viking-esque culture.

Aras. Parrot-people.

Kudu. Minotaurs, but with antelophy heads.

Mermen. Self-explainatory.

Walking, taking, cats with wings!

Furcadia. Nuff said.

Birdmen. My friend's got an entire storyline based around them, and already figured out a heirarchy and religion for them. they will be led by the bird-emperor Manuron...

So if they wanted to be totally invisible, they'd just have to close their eyes? of course, there'd be the tactical trade-off of being temporarily blind.
