IMNSHO, Orc looks too human. I enjoy my burly, big jawed green motherfuckers.

The orc looks too human, but the rest of them are pretty damn awesome.
That's because the Kotaku reviewer made him look like that. Usual orcs still look badass.

That is like taking the old orcs and multiplying by the inverse of the orc in the OP.

In other words, holy shit that orc looks badass!
Please tell me I'm not going to be the only one rolling an Orc male warrior who can cast elemental spells, carring a two-handed Ebony warhammer and wearing Ebony armor, killing dragons while screaming "LOK'TAR OGAR! FOR THE HORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRDE!" in this game.

Please?
I don't play WOW. Why are you asking me?
Actually, I was asking everyone. All I did was quote one of the two people who had the badass orc picture and added in my two cents and you happened to be the one I quoted.
Oh.

Well then allow me to say that I plan on copypasting Obould Many-Arrows as my character.
Am I too much of a nerd if I say I know who that character is? Only because I know him through one Drizzt Do'Urden...and suffice to say even though I wanted Drizzt to win, Obould was not only a badass, but an honorable badass, and captured a little place in my heart.
Assuming you've read Ghost King, why aren't you happy with how everything works out? Or at least you sound unhappy.
...and that's where this conversation draws to a close, because I have yet to read Ghost King. I own everything R. A. Salvatore has done with Drizzt - the trilogies of Dark Elf, Icewind Dale, The Hunter's Blades and the books Siege of Darkness, The Legacy, Passage to Dawn and Starless Night. I think the Transition series is my next book buying spree and, if memory serves me correctly, Ghost King is the second to last in that series?
Wait, my bad. It's in Orc King.

100 years after Transitions, Drizzt kills some bandit guys, then the chapter cuts to Obould the Sixth.

After Ghost King comes Gauntylgrym, which starts a new series with Drizzt. Considering it's 100 years after Transitions, it's only got Drizzt, Guenhwyvar, Bruenor as the main party type thing, but it's still really awesome.

Get them. GET THEM NOW.

I think that was the last thing I needed to see to tell that my first character is going to be an Argonian.

Wow. That Redguard's arms are cartoonishly large. That's what I'll be my first time around. I wonder if we'll be able to change their body's look? I'd like my character to not look like an HGH fiend.

Argonians look pretty good . They look a little more "dinosaur-ish" than other games. Everything else either looks outright fugly to just alright... mainly due to the repulsive graphics engine more than anything. Yuck... even Oblivion characters looked better than some of these.

Just more reason not to waste my money on what is going to be a colossal disappointment. Of course Bethesda fans are too blind to realize that the dev's MO is overhyping their buggy, poorly designed pieces of garbage in hopes that someone will buy into it hook, line, and sinker.
If you can't tell that the graphics have improved between each game when it's right in front of your face, you must be Mr Magoo. The Morrowind faces are hideous and the Oblivion faces look like someone inflated a balloon with a drawing of a face on them.

Bethesda games are made fun by the sheer amount of dicking around you can do with the bugs and the functional game.

That's why I spent a good chunk of my life on Oblivion.

That said, how the hell do you think Oblivion's character models look BETTER than Skyrim's?

Oblivion looked like a big botox clinic in terms of character models.

Would be nice if they gave us a range of body types to go with. Faces are great, but being different heights/builds would be a nice step forward, like the facial hair option.

Now let us hope they have put more effort into the voice acting this time.
There are 70 different voice actors confirmed, you can find it in the link I provided in the first post.
It's not the quantity, it's the quality.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, I think for a game like this I'd rather have 70 NPC voices where they got the developers and their girlfriends in for a couple of days to do dialogue, than have, for example, Patrick Stewart and Helen Mirren doing everyone.

Whilst the latter have all the quality in the world, the former would probably add a bit more immersion.

Of course, Oblivion seemed to get the worst of both worlds (aside from Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean of course), where we had two rather poor voice actors doing everyone.

You don't need top Hollywood actors or anyone like that, you need professional voice actors like Jim Cummings, Jim Ward, James Hong, Fred Tatasciore, Hank Azaria and the late-great Mel Blanc. People who have had plenty of expereince voicing characters, people like Jim Cummings have voiced so many different characters, characters that have very different voices mind you, that you don't even realise it's the same actor.

Jim Cummings has done the voice for Winnie the Pooh, The Master in Fallout 1 and Ed in The Lion King...what do these character voices have in common?

Nothing, because Jim Cummings can do multiple voices without you even realising.

I really like the look of all of them (except for the new orc). I love the snow leopard Kahjiit. And the argonians look borderline Dragon like. The bosmer actually look like elves now (thank god)and the dunmer seem to have fully taken their angry, spiteful personalities to visible level. Hooray! I'm so excited for this game!

The argonians looks really awesome this time around.

I might have to play one ?

Naa... I will play Breton either way if the racials are the same, they are far too overpowered.

If he can voice a harmless bear-thing (pooh) and a scientist fused with a computer and a virus- mutagen thing without me noticing similarities, I'd say that he is a god voice actor.

I'm curious in what way Bretons differ visually from Nords/Imperials in Oblivion, let alone Skyrim.

I once had someone say "Hello fellow Breton" to me and I was like "which one of you generic white people said that?"

My choice in Oblivion was based on not liking any of the models no matter how much I tinkered with them. Aside from Breton female which only required a few changes to please me, they all looked off to me.

I could never get an Altmer's head to not look like someone put spock ears on a 60 year old chinese woman whose head was squished vertically in a vise.

Argonians had awesome racial abilities with the water breathing and poison immunity/disease resistance, but I just couldn't make one I liked.

So I got a character I liked that also happened to have bonus magicka, 50% resist magic, and Dragon Skin (which I never even use). If only I could find a damn mundane ring...

Its a 1st person game but I'm glad that unlike Fallout games you don't need to look like shit.

Since getting more magicka seems to be easier in Skyrim (an option at lv up) I probably won't feel the need to prioritize all my toon options just to get a workable amount of it.

My character specialized in magic and hand to hand because of the zero repair cost, never being disarmed, not fiddling with poisons, and shield enchantments. Plus knocking mofos out is always fun. You can even punch ghosts eventually. Even so I also liked using bows and stealth, but you can only spam sneak attacks on the same jerk while he stands there before you just wanna shoot lightning at him.

I am loving that you won't be crafting spells this time, and hope that you won't be able to be perma chameleon this time. I only ever used that to avoid having to fight lvl 30 goblin shamans/warlords because no one should have to do that. One absorbs most spells and does nothing but flee and spam heal itself, the other has like 1200 hp and spells do jack to it Q_Q.

Kahjiit look great in Skyrim though.
