Damnit I'm starting to get hyped, and if there's one thing we've seen from J.J. Abrams it that he never really delivers on the hype.

They did it! They really did it! I am well and truly hyped! The rational side of me keeps telling me to curb my enthusiasm, but my inner geeky child is bouncing in his seat! I don't even mind that we're back on motherfucking Tatooine yet again!

On a related note, there's already rampant fan speculation regarding the villain's mask...
I know the old EU has been relegated to "Legends" status, but it would actually make sense if it was Revan's mask. After all, Kylo Ren is supposed to be collecting Sith artifacts if the rumors are true.
Yea, he looks really similar to Revan. The movie looks pretty good though, I will keep my excitement to the minimum though. Got too excited for the Hobbit and look how that turned out...
Honestly, now that it showed the crossguard in action, it looks pretty dumb haha. It looks like he will cut his own arm as he is swinging it.
The star destroyer and Han and chewie made me smile. Also, maybe we will get to see Leia wrecking stuff with force powers?
Also, the chrome troopers look sweet.

Yeah...sorry, I'm just not feeling it. It feels less like "Star Wars: The Sequel Trilogy" and more like "Star Wars: The Original Trilogy 2.0." Say what you will about the prequel trilogy, but at least that felt like its own thing in terms of setting, 'essence', etc.
Old Han Solo makes me sad : (

Nothing screams Moebius sci-fi than a wasteland with giant busted old tech littering the horizon. That scene alone has more artistic vision than the prequels combined... despite how cheap it might be.Fox12 said:
Eh. Some cool bits. Some less cool bits, like the Millennium Falcon bit that just looked like it was aping the finale of Jedi. Hope this ultimately is more like Abram's first Trek outing than the second. Certainly better than the first trailer, with all that derpy lightsaber stuff.
Also. they should've given Chewie at least some grey hair/fur (whichever Wookie's actually have) to show some ageing. It's kinda weird to have old Solo, but then Chewie looking like he's fresh from Endor.

What is there to get hyped about? They're just using iconic things from Star Wars to make an average movie and make a lot of money. The most interesting stuff about Star Wars lies in the expanded universe and in the KOTOR/SWTOR timeline. This will just be a generic Star Wars movie, with generic characters and a generic story.
