The New menu sucks. Ass.
It's clunky, out of place and forces everything to splay over the place willy-nilly. It gets in the way of everything and is generally unpleasant to look at. The only good thing the new menu has brought is the icon change for the craft section from a briefcase to an anvil.

Seriously, it cuts out half the screen with stuff that you don't need when they could have kept it as a simple list of things to do, I can only think of one reason they did this and uttering it here will get me thousand angry mac noobs flaming me. But here it is anyway:

It was only changed because valve, in alienating their core user base of Microsoft users, knows that Mac users like things shiny and would insult the aesthetic style of the old menu without giving second thought to the functionality of it all.

Seriously it's shiny, it gets in the way, it brings nothing good to the table (except for the aforementioned anvil). The new TF2 Menu sucks copious quantities of ass.
Agreed.
Don't worry though. We'll kick their Mac asses from 2fort to dustbowl.

Also that new gun looks awesome.

What I'm hoping for is that the scope lets you zoom in and see either through spy disguises OR spy's that are using their watches become visible to you (for a limited time then it has to recharge).
Yeah, lets make the hardest class to play in the game even harder to play by adding another weapon that fucks them over.
Genius.

Maybe the shotgun fires pellets which then explode into shrapnel upon contact?

Oh really? Are you sure your miserable crash-happy processor-guzzler of an OS can go that long without crashing or kicking you off to update some application you never use?

You must consult the valve time chart.

P'raps it builds stuff that it hits.

My god, BUILDING BULLETS.

The new layout is alright, but I prefered the original.

Of course. You'll be too distracted with all the shiny buttons...

TLDR: TF2 is now on the Mac and the Engineer has an engraved(and scoped, by the looks of it) shotgun.
looks more like a laser sight to me but then again i did think it was a gas chamber for some sort of gas powered shotgun...wouldnt that be awesome

EDIT: FIRST ON THE 2ND PAGE!!

Do you mean an auto-shotgun? That would be pretty crappy. Not bad necessarily, but overpowered. The laser sight would be okay, but I don't think it fits in TF2

There is must speculation that the gun is going to be "Morgan". A community invented shotgun for the engineer, because the art of this gun greatly matches the concept art the original designer used. This would not be the first time Valve uses the communities ideas for an update.

I'd be disappointed if the engineers update will be a weapon. I was kind of hoping the Engie would get a remote controlled sentry or something.
