5 pieces of advice:

1. Font editing is awesome.
2. I find it useful to set your PM options to alert you when you've been quoted.
3. Stay out of trouble with the Mods and the haters in the community. (Generally not flaming for flaming's sake will suit you fine.)
4. Don't be naïve. It'll only go badly for you.
5. Get an awesome avatar. I'm still working on this one.

Have fun, add me as a friend if you wanna. If not, we'll see each other around.
Happy posting!

[HEADING=1]WELCOME![/HEADING]

*Insert obligatory basement joke here*

I hope you enjoy your stay, we don't bite. Well, some of us do.
Haha Thanks! I Wish I understood the basement joke thing, I feel so out of the loop haha
I'll let the folks from LoadingReadyRun explain it [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/loadingreadyrun/2009-The-Basement]. (also part 2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/loadingreadyrun/2233-Trapped])

Why is it I always get to these threads late? The rules, trolls, and basement are already covered by the time I get here...

So anyway, welcome and have fun!

We look forward to having you on board. *Shakes hand*

Pft. You enjoyed it as much as me. I could see you wanting to help, with your eyes on the cleaver all the time.

As for the fridge...*shrug* I like my meat cold. *smiles*
...THAT'S MEAT?!
Hey, I had to clean that thing out 2 days ago! The crisper drawer had things you didn't even knew existed! So dont go saying there is something in there, because its all out, besides the headcrab and biscuits.

Welcome to The Escapist, and I don't know what the basement is either so don't feel bad...

Why don't noobs ever learn that the best way to avoid being treated badly for being a noob is to not announce it. We'd be able to tell from your post count and join date anyway >_>
Why don't people learn that a noob and a newb are two very different kinds of people...
Because homophones are annoying.
How is that relevant? It may sound the same but it's not written the same. *cough*

I'm kind of sick of "Hi, I'm new here" threads.

We'll know you're new here because of the join date.
... I guess some of them could be disguised, but this one was pretty straight forward.. if sick of them, why go to it and then take the time to post in it?
yeah create hate threads and rage on I'm new threads there
O.T. Welcome to the escapist don't be an ass and you and I will get along here

Same here mate, but I think that if you just act like you would act on any other forum, you (and I) will do just fine.

There's some terrible grammar to go with my first post.
i can't seem to take my eyes off your avatar.... o_o

Aww. Sorry man. Have a drink. *offers flask*
There is no possible way I can trust what's in that flask.
Pah, fine. *downs in one* Your loss. I'm gonna get something to eat...coward.
Can I come? Last night, the Lemon pie? That was my cooking. Ground up the ingredients by hand. I'm that guy who works over in the corner. Remember? One time you lent me your foot grinder?
OT:Welcome my friend to the Escapist, land of the free, home of the Grammar Nazi's (me being one of them). Try to have good punctuation and spelling and overall grammar, and you won't end up in my Key Lime pie :)
Just kidding, about the pie part. Enjoy your stay and absolutely no trolling.

Uh yeah, hey. That's all I got. Do you like fruit?
Sure, Do you like fruit?
Sometimes, it depends on the kind of fruits. Apples and pears are fine, pumpkins and tomatoes are not. Generally though I'm more carnivorous.

Greetings and welcome to the Escapist from the resident Legend of Zelda fanatic (i.e. me). Make sure you avoid the basement, don't feed the troll under the stairs, and follow the #1 rule on this site (i.e. don't be a jerk), and you will do fine.

So...Do you like fish?
Haha greetings Legend of Zelda fanatic. Thank you for the advice :) In answer to your question about fish, I must insist on answering it with a question of my own...
Do you like cheese?
Why yes, I do rather like cheese. Except limburger cheese. Never could stand that stuff. But most other types I like.
Cheese is probably my favourite!
Cheese is very good. But there is one thing that beats it...BACON!
Wensleydale with bacon bits in it, how does that sound?

Hey, welcome to The Escapist, etc. Don't worry about feeling out of the loop, you'll figure out the culture here soon enough. My one advice to you: Whatever it is that drew you to The Escapist in the first place (probably Yahtzee), don't watch/read only that. Expand, look at the other shows, the reviews, the columns, the news. Most of the interesting nerdy stuff on the internet gets filtered through here.
Haha Yeah it was definitely Yahtzee. Thanks for the advice, although I'm a little worried I'll spend too much time here once I start looking at everything else haha
Oh, I forgot to welcome you in my earlier post. My bad.
Welcome to the Escapist. Hopefully, you enjoy the stay and avoid the moderators' wrath (not that hard really).

I recommend you watch Extra Credits. I also enjoy the various webcomics. I'd also recommend Escape to the Movies and Loading Ready Run. Those are all some of my favorite bits of the entertainment here.
