should I be REALLY worried or a little worried?

I have made a ton of accouts for things where I have had one password in use. My real worry is if they attack steam/valve (if thats even possible) and get my bank details. unless its all refunded to me then its cool.
I would suggest you have seperate passwords for the important things such as email, bank, steam, anyplace that you use a CC card on or has other personal information. Dont store the CC card if it isnt one of those prepaid cards is also a good idea.

the passwords should be no less than 7 characters really and not just be a word. include symbols and numbers. I just type randomly onto notepad and get something like 4o-p2@c'ty then paste that into the password box.

I'm getting really tired of these script kiddies running waving there e-peen everywhere... I mean seriously what "lulz" is there to be had in hacking someone like Bethesda?

Are people seriously donating to this group though? I mean that's almost worse than being part of the group... (I would quote the post where donating was mentioned but I'm tired and lazy)
They have nearly 10,000 USD in donations. Mostly because someone donated 7,200 USD in one shot.

$5,000 says it was Microsoft.

Can I ask why we are giving a flying fuck about these ass holes? They are only out for attention and trying to become idiotically famed.

I would try and hack the place they get their donations from and siphon it to something like an actual charity.
They use Bitcoin.org for their donations. It's not possible to 'hack' Bit Coin because it's an ultra-secure torrent. (I.E. It only uses it's own files and keeps no records. So it wouldn't even be possible to trace anyone using Bit Coins.)

LulzSec, the douchey schoolyard bullies of the internet.

Too bad some people can't grow up.

When they outright admit 'if you want ethics, go cry to Anonymous' of all people, I think the community is legitimately allowed to direct all of their hatred towards them.

And where are Anonymous exactly? I may not like them but this really is a 'lesser of two evils' situation we have here.

I fucking hate this sort of retarded 'rebel without a clue' nonsense.
After Anon's headquarters AnonOps was shut down, perhaps by LulzSec, they disappeared for weeks. Now they lurk on 4chan, even more disorganized and leaderless than before.

Only one good thing can come of this: companies will actually buff security.

Is it just me, or will all of these bigtime hacking endeavours lead to the anti-Net Neutrality crowd having the ammo they need to convince governments to put restrictions on everything, for "security purposes"? There has to be some consequences from this that we would all suffer from, aside from the identity crises.

Screw you LulzSec. If you delay Skyrim, the FBI won't need to track you down.
But if it's only messing with Brink, I don't mind much since it's supposed to be a bad game. You're still jerks because it isn't even a very lulzy thing to do and you are needlessly inconveniencing thousands, but at least it isn't as bad as the PSN hack.

Lulzsec is like the joker at this point, where anon is more like batman.
Great analogy, and it actually works well.

I don't understand why. What are they trying to prove? Do they think that they're some sort of 'anarchistic vigilante' style hero? There's no need for all of this, and has an impact on a lot of innocent people.
No. They do it for the laughs. It's not moral, it's funny. They would set your house on fire just to see your face when you see your family dead inside. Don't expect them to be "vigilantes" because they are not

LulzSec? They're just trolls... voilá.
A bunch of 'kids' (currently hacking everything gaming-related...? they need to fucking grow up) with some hard-to-learn skills.

This affects Brink/Bethesda accounts. If you log into Live and dont need to log into anything else to play Brink online then no. atleast not until someone hacks MS and XBOX Live.

They're not trying to prove anything, they're just doing it for the lulz. This isn't Anonymous.

Ok, my new theory is that Lulzsec have been hired by EA to eliminate competition. BioWare is scared of Skyrim, perhaps?

... and this proves they are indeed "doing" shit. This reaction is what they want. In case you are not familiar with the nature of this behaviour, you may have heard of the term "trolling". Yeah, that's what they doing, deal with it
