And so did everyone else who knows Obsidian's/Bethesda's track record. I've been saying this would happen ever since the game was announced. Honestly, all I can say is "know shit?"

Its an Obsidian game on a Bethesda engine, what else did you expect? A stable game? HAH!
This is why I'm waiting a few months before buying. The community will have fixed the bugs, and have a pretty sizable mod-pool for it.
Dude, take a deep breath and calm down. Srsly.

They already know the issue, so it's not like Obsidian are just going to leave it like that. And the PC version is apparently grand.

Hopefully they've learned from Fallout 3 and release some decent patches that'll fix fix more than they break.

Nah, PC version is just as buggy as the console versions. Probably more due to many different system configurations.

And these bugs everyone's mentioning go all the way back to Oblivion, so yeah, even if they say they'll work on it, I'm not holding my breath.

It's not like Obsidian are going to leave it the way it is? Lol, have you played Kotor 2?
Also this.

Never had Fallout 3 crash on my Xbox360

Got some funny bugs, like self launching deathclaws. But I like those.

Fallout 3 was a game I found played better on consoles than pc (I could never get the mouse acceleration to work properly)

So although I would like to get this on pc, I think I will be waiting for a tally of console bugs vs pc bugs before making a decision.

It's made by Obsidian. Every game they make is a bug fest. The last game they made, Alpha Protocol, still didn't get a decent patch.

I bought fallout3 on it's release date. Could play it for about a month - after which a patch made it crash to my desktop whenever I tried to play. Solution? Pirate the game.
The last patch they released caused crashing if I used a new driver. If I wanted to play fallout3 (a game I paid for) I had to pirate it, use old video drivers, and I was still under threat of crashing.

This all takes place on New Vegas.

Have you guys ever considered, that maybe, just maybe having your game quit or save properly is just part of the adventure of betting?

Get teh PC version, await modders doing all the work Bethesda and Obsidian never did and work out the big bugs.
I give it about a week or two before th ebugs are worked out (by modders) and the mods start flowing.

These are two different dev teams, so it's not like it goes "all the way back to Oblivion". This is the first game Obsidian's done with this engine.

lol I fucking knew it.
It seems like one of the few RPGs that's better on PS3/360. I originally tried Fallout 3 on my PC (like a normal person) but it crashed so hard so many times it was an incomprehensible mess.

I tried it on my console, a PS3, and it works beautifully, although every fifty hours or so the game will just nosedive to frozen screen territory. But it's managable considering Fallout 3's excellent autosave function.

Anyway, I have no idea how they even made the fucking games if they are so glitchy and buggy on PC. I'm surprised that the dodgyness of the Gamebryo engine didn't seep into the developer tools and make the whole thing crash.
What the fuck goes through Bethesda's collective hive mind when they decide a game is 'good enough' for release? A game should never be 'good enough'! That's how you make great games!!

Bethesta and Obsidian are the worst developers in history, they leave their games to be finished by moding communities for god sakes.

They make good games but they're often bugging out badly.

Hell Fallout had a bug that was reported to bethesta, what did they do? "Play the game in windowed mode"
Are you for cereal?? 'Play the game in windowed mode' was their honest answer. Screw that noise!!

Okay, I'm roundin' up an angry mob, who's with me? you'll have to supply your own torches, but the pitchforks are free.

I'm considering getting it when it comes to Europe. Can anyone tell me if the PC version is relatively game-stopping bug free? (relative to Fallout 3)

Meh. I save before every fight in Fallout 3 and Oblivion. New Vegas won't be an issue.

I'll be safe. Unless there are save bugs...
Just to let you know, people are having saves wiped for no reason.

I can't tell whether the ellipsis was there to show you really did know or not xD
Just F:NV Files or files in general? Because in that case I need to purchase a Flash Drive.

EDIT: Also, what platforms? All I'm assuming?

I once had a bad guy run at me in fallout 3 and he clipped something and shot into the air like a bottle rocket, I like those bugs.
I got that once as well. Fortunately, the enemy in question was a Deathclaw, one which was seemingly quite desperate to pay a visit to Mothership Zeta before me.

Anyway, I do hope New Vegas works well enough on the 360, it won't be a day 1 purchase for me (though it likely would if I wasn't so poor this month), so I'll get to hear some more local tales of bug woe that may arise before I get it.
