It's an Osbidian game on a Bethesda engine, it was inevitable. The main reason i'm not buying it is because i knew it would be buggy as fuck. I might consider buying it when it comes down in price a bit but i'm not buying it full price. I've never had any issues with Oblivion on the PC or Xbox 360, but i had a couple of issues with Fallout 3 on the 360 like the time i was playing it and my Xbox got the red ring of death.

Meh. I save before every fight in Fallout 3 and Oblivion. New Vegas won't be an issue.

I'll be safe. Unless there are save bugs...
Just to let you know, people are having saves wiped for no reason.

I can't tell whether the ellipsis was there to show you really did know or not xD
Just F:NV Files or files in general? Because in that case I need to purchase a Flash Drive.

EDIT: Also, what platforms? All I'm assuming?
Just NV saved files; and the guy was playing on a PC, but I wouldn't take any chances. It's pretty clear that the game's not in a very worthy state on any platform.

so I've logged about a 500 hours on Oblivion and it's crashed about 5 times. Not really a big deal. Fallout 3 crashed on me once.

This is Obsidian's fault. Not Bethesda's.

Bethesta and Obsidian are the worst developers in history, they leave their games to be finished by moding communities for god sakes.

They make good games but they're often bugging out badly.

Hell Fallout had a bug that was reported to bethesta, what did they do? "Play the game in windowed mode"
LOL I thought you said worst but you obviously mean best. Hahahaha good joke.

In all honesty though I've never played anything by Obsidian so I won't judge them. Fallout 3 and Oblivion are my two favorite games though. They are both critically acclaimed so I doubt Bethesda is the worst developer ever.

What the fuck goes through Bethesda's collective hive mind when they decide a game is 'good enough' for release? A game should never be 'good enough'! That's how you make great games!!

No thats not how great games are made, that how duke nukem forever gets made or more precisly not.

Well, ever since my copy of PC copy of Fallout 3 developed the gall to crash every time I had the nerve to venture outside I haven't been very trusting of the engine.

You know I have to wonder why people buy games made by these companies if they are known to have serious game ending bugs. The best thing to do is not buy the games at all.

I find it funny that companies like Blizzard spend so much time polishing the experience when companies like Bethesda or Firaxis can put out such incomplete products like Civ5/Fallout and still be overwhelmingly successful.

Can't fault them though...we the consumer (myself included) are sending the statement that this is fine.

For my 360, Oblivion has never crashed and to my immediate memory, never actually bugged in any way, no crashes or anything. As for Fallout 3, I've had the usual launching deathclaws, clipping etc. No crashes though.
New Vegas will be here in two days, and if it's completely unplayable, I give it a week before there's a patch that will sort the majority of it out. I look forward to wasting numerous hours on it.

My PS3 version is working fine, so as Fallout 3.

Actually, I may be the only one who NEVER had this problem.

You talking PC or console? Because on the 360, Fallout 3 was rather buggy, but it only crashed completely maybe once or twice total.

And so did everyone else who knows Obsidian's/Bethesda's track record.

I've been saying this would happen ever since the game was announced.

Honestly, all I can say is "know shit?"

Its an Obsidian game on a Bethesda engine, what else did you expect? A stable game? HAH!

This is why I'm waiting a few months before buying. The community will have fixed the bugs, and have a pretty sizable mod-pool for it.
New Vegas has been fine to me.
Me too, I don't know what you guys are on about...

I've never experienced any problems with Oblivion or Fallout 3 (which I beat on both the 360 before I had a decent computer and the pc) and I've currently been playing New Vegas for about 6 hours without encountering anything I'd call a bug aside from some shoddy AI pathing on some NPCs and some graphical tearing on the horizons...I don't know what all of you are doing wrong. :p
