New Vegas - an absolute mess.

It's out today in the US.

My only problem with it thus far is that for some retarded reason it gets choppy as all hell whenever more than 1-2 NPC models are on screen. I have no idea why and it's driving me crazy.

Bethesta and Obsidian are the worst developers in history, they leave their games to be finished by moding communities for god sakes.

They make good games but they're often bugging out badly.

Hell Fallout had a bug that was reported to bethesta, what did they do? "Play the game in windowed mode"

In all honesty though I've never played anything by Obsidian so I won't judge them. Fallout 3 and Oblivion are my two favorite games though. They are both critically acclaimed so I doubt Bethesda is the worst developer ever.

It's half a joke and half not, while their games are often fun and what not, their games are incredibly buggy, often unfinished and the modding community is usually left to fix what they wouldn't. Bethesta anyway, I hear Obsidian is roughly the same.

But regardless, they never put out patches they just pump out expansion packs and never fix what's broke.

So while I think Fallout 3 is a good game, I also hate fighting with their inability to fix what's broken, it leaves me unwilling to finish it. I play games to unwind not scream fuck as it crashes and I gotta replay half a dungeon. Ah yeah must have been their other patch "save often" along with their "windowed mode"

I've been playing for about 4 hours (took a break now) and I really have only seen one bug/glitch, and that was a scorpion clipping through a rock at the beginning of the game. Smooth sailing since then. For reference, I've been playing on 360, and I installed it to my HD before playing. could that make that much of a difference?

Eh doesn't affect me. FO3 didn't look interesting to me and neither does New Vegas. I did play Oblivion and it never crashed. Except now my save is corrupted and the game freezes if I try to load

I saved pretty much every 5 minutes on my PS3s Fallout 3. So I will be used to this ^^

I can't believe how many times this game has crashed on me, requiring a hard reset. Save often, fellows. I can't believe they let this happen again, and why anyone would continue to buy games by Bethesda. Is anyone else out there having this problem (I guess it affects both consoles, not sure about PC), and if so, will you warn people against buying this game until it is resolved?

Were these bugs mainly just on PC? I played on 360 and the game only crashed a few times.

I quick save so much on the PC I barely notice my fingers do that. Its basically second nature.
