I had over 400 saves for Morrowind at one point!CitySquirrel said:Edit: Why they think anyone will use 100 saves I have no idea...
Fallout has always had bugs when they started. the only advice i can offer is to use those 100 saves. But look at the bright side, now you know what to do when you start over.steevee said:So, there I am, happily playin' New Vegas.
Just wandering around Freeside when BAM! Black screen!
That's okay I think to myself. No problem, just retart the ol' Xbox, no harm done.
But no! The save file is corrupt and I'm gunna have to start over. 10 Hours, gone because I, like an idiot relied solely on the Auto save.
Grrr.
Anyone else had this happen? Anything I can do to avoid it, other than saving manally regularly?
Ohhhhh, alright. That makes more sense. But, I've played Fallout 3... not their best work. So, whoever would make over 100 save slots is either OCD about one character or loves the game a bit too much to remake 100 new people.CitySquirrel said:Josh Kurber said:I wouldn't do that. I was watching a gameplay video and heard you are only allowed 100 saves. though I may be wrong, since I, myself, will go nowhere near this game, buggy or not. Just wanted to give fair warning, whether I am right or wrong. That is 100 save slots. I thought so too at first, but if you save multiple times in the same slot the number doesn't go up.WittyInfidel said:Yay, only 100 saves. I knew I should have pre-ordered this game! /sarcasm

I learned that by playing the first Mass Effect, when it would auto save in obvious spots, yet if you do a shit ton of work and die, you have to restart from that long ago auto save. Especially when visiting the random planets, going through EVERY spot on the map, finding resources and whatnot, only to die because you didn't see that tiny little missle coming at you in time, then beginning from when you landed.RatRace123 said:Never ever ever ever ever rely on just auto save, ever.
Save often and in multiple save slots. Me personally, I always have a save slot for each level I've gotten to.
Did you ever play Arcanum? I could keep two or three characters going at once, easy!Josh Kurber said:Hell, I'm in love with Oblivion, and not even I could make more than three people without almost falling asleep within an hour on the third guy.
Arcanum? I apologize for this question, but... what is that? xDCitySquirrel said:Did you ever play Arcanum? 100 unfortunately. When really I think there should be an infinite save slots, you never know how many you will need.Slavik_91 said:actually its 1000 save slots
was infinite on F3, and I just checked again, its 1000 on New VegasC95J said:100 unfortunately. When really I think there should be an infinite save slots, you never know how many you will need.Slavik_91 said:actually its 1000 save slots
Also I think it was infinite on Fallout 3 but I am not sure...
Damn, dude, I am really sorry to hear that. But lesson learned. Never count solely on auto saves. I think we've all learned that the hard way.steevee said:So, there I am, happily playin' New Vegas.

and tbh I think limiting save slots its pointless, if need be we can just remove the save files and store them somewhere else, opening more slots (though i doubt any1 will use 1k slots)
