New Vegas for 360 or PC?

Before everyone starts screaming PC please take a quick read. I can't decide between getting the 360 version and the PC version mainly because I'm unsure how well my Laptop will run the game. I can hook a controller and hdmi cable to my computer so it would be basically the same experience plus I can mod but the 360 option guarantees a nice presentation. I don't do a lot of PC gaming so hopefully some hardware buff might be able to give me an idea of what I can expect.

Fallout New Vegas Recommended System Requirements:
Steamworks digital platform (Games for Windows is the certification)
Operating System: XP, Vista, Windows 7
Processor: Dual Core 2Ghz (enhanced for multi-core)
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 6 Series or similar (ATI 1300 minimum)
Memory: 2GB
Hard Disc Space: 10GB

Me:
Steam (derp)
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core Duo 2.66 ghz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series (256 mb dedicated)
4BG memory

SO basically I meet the requirements but I don't really trust my GPU, etc. I know this is ignorant especially for a computer engineer but I don't want to drop $50 and have it run like poo on low settings. Cheers and thanks in advance :)

EDIT: Heh just found a "Can I Run It" it said "You have a weak spot but your rig may be able to run it" lol...

With those system specs, I'd only go for the PC version if you really, really liked keyboard and mouse controls. Console version it is, otherwise.

PC version looks fine.

I see what you're saying about the GPU, but New Vegas's specs are so low. And the GfW certificate on the top of the box doesn't matter; it's Games for Windows Live that you want to be worried about.

I mean come on, the 6 series was launched in like 2005, yours was around 2008. The fact that it's a laptop chipset shouldn't matter too much (as dastardly as they are).

Disclaimer: I am running blind on how well your card would run the thing, but I'm assuming badly for security. I know from my own machines experience that the RAM and CPU are fine, though.

Whats the potential for upgrading the card? Because if it's a Bethesda game (or a spinoff of) then PC, PC, PC. Taking advantage of the mods is what it's all about, and you can't do that on a 360.

PC all the way. Better controls, mods, and I'm pretty sure your graphics will be on par with the 360's.

The game is running on the same old Oblivion engine. You'll have no problems running the game on your PC. And you'll have the advantage of mouse and keyboard and mods, lots of mods.

It should work at about Medium, which will probably look like the 360 version anyway. Go PC.

PC.

New Vegas will run on such average machines that most people will be able to get it without fear.

The real reason I say PC though, is for the modding community. That's something you don't get on a 360. I've played FO3 on both 360 and PC and I've enjoyed the PC one more because it continues after I've finished because of the modding community.

Dare I ask what your PC specs are?
2GHz, 2 gigs ram, and...no idea what is going on for graphics. I'm on a dell laptop (worst idea of my life) and I don't think I have properly reinstalled my drivers since I reinstalled vista a few months back. Either way, it was having issues with Deus Ex: Invisible Wars so I'm pretty sure it cry at New Vegas. Or it maybe it was trying to protect me.

If I got around to fixing my desktop I might be able to play it, since my desktop could handle Assassin's Creed...more or less.

Your PC sounds borderline. I want to scream PC for reasons others have mentioned (mods, keyboard & mouse), but the experience might not be the best.

Have you played FO3 on your PC? Or say, Oblivion? If they play acceptably, New Vegas should play acceptably.

Also: developers, this is one of many reasons you should release demos, especially for PC games.

I'd go with PC. Knowing Obsidian, both versions will be buggy and incomplete, but the PC will inevidably get mods to fix this. With the 360 you'll just be stuck with a buggy game.

PC

You'll be able to fix the metric ton of bugs that are sure to be in the game, plus there will be mods to help boost performance.

I'm running with an HD 4850 and Fallout 3 runs great under max settings... it also helps that I'm running a Phenom II Quad Black Edition.
