I've got the PC version but I haven't picked up any DLC yet. By this point it's really to be expected that any new release from obsidian (especially when running on a bethesda engine) is going to have a lot of bugs DLC or no. Give it a week or something and they should have a patch for it and in the meantime you'll really just have to play something else cos there's a fat lot else you can do.

I've spent many hours on the 360 version with no problems, a few minor glitches with AI and graphics, but that's it.

You're right. Vegas is fucked. It's all about redundancy. Look up CASM on Newvegasnexus and set it to keep a lot of saves going. There are also many, many stability patches on the same websites. If something like that happens to you, reload a save from 10-20 minutes ago and it should fix it. Or avoid a certain area, certain item, etc.

It's all about trial and error in fixing it, really, but you catch on quickly enough. You've just got to have enough redundant saves to make it viable.

I've had a few times where it hasnt gone past the loading screen. But the other day was the worst. I was about to snipe a Legion dude in the head, and BAM! Red ring of doom. :(

So I went and bought a new x-box. :)

Downloaded the new DLC, however, the "ending of the courier's story" that was promised just doesn't pan out. Compared to Old World Blues, this is a disappointment.

I've actually encountered very few bugs on my playthroughs.

Occasionally the loading screen will freeze, or I will fall into a rock and have to restart, but apart from that, nothing major.

Hasn't each new piece of DLC been plagued with launch bugs? If so, why are people still buying them as soon as they come out?

If you played New Vegas after the current patch but before you installed the new DLC maybe you could delete the game system data and re-install everything but Honest Hearts to see if it's the main issue or not?

I must be really lucky when it comes to FO 3 and NV, everyone says the games are full of bugs, but i have never encountered any bugs and the only time FO3 has ever froze on me was when my PS3 was beginning to overheat and that only happened once.

Playstations get dust on their lenses and innards and start slowing down pretty quick. A taxing game like this probably takes hits faster due to such things.

My pc version runs alright on my laptop. Merely alright, not spectacularly. Water makes it crash, and oftentimes it just takes a nosedive, but besides that I still enjoy being the stranger with the big iron on his hip.

There is a problem that autosave can become corrupted, so you have to reload an earlier 'hard save' and repeat the stuff you have done.
This can also happen with the PC version if you excessively use quicksave/autosave, so to be on the save side just make several different savegames.
I roughly saved every hour on top of autosave and quicksave.

Had it happen the first couple of playthroughs. Unsure of the reason, but it's not happened again. Now when I save I never just leave it to the auto-save, because that's silly.

So, I just downloaded Lonesome Road - literally like under an hour ago - and started up New Vegas. My current character is still in the middle of Honest Hearts and needs to knock out Old World Blues again, so I figured I'd do Honest Hearts tonight. Well, I start playing, not for five minutes, and the game becomes a slightly-interactive slideshow, and then freezes totally.

Well, not unusual - the game is buggier than Klendathu, so I just restart my Playstation and load my auto. Exactly two more minutes into it, freeze.

I'm aggravated now, but third time's the charm right?

Nope. It, too, froze just after just a few minutes of gameplay. I'm starting to suspect that I'll be creating a new character, if it'll even let me do that. Of course, that's about another thirty hours I'll have to play through before tackling Lonesome Road.

This happened once before, when I went to the strip. I saved my game and reloaded to discover that it was simply impossible to play anymore and had to start from scratch. Again.

Is anyone else experiencing this level unplayability? Like, the game literally won't let you play?
Try multiple saves to avoid the same problems again...

My copy of Fallout vegas wont even load in my xbox anymore bah!

Funny thing is, I break all the rules with F:NV - I use the autosave and quicksave, I run a hundred mods, etc, but ever since I started using F:NV Mod Manager, it's been almost bug free. Timeslip is completely legendary.

I say nearly, because I did encounter one major bug - one of the quests in Dead Money broke so badly that every time I had an area transition it immediately CTD'ed. I ended up using the movetoqt command in the console, and as soon as the quest was over it was perfect for the rest of the DLC. No idea what caused it - on a subsequent playthrough, with the same patch and the same mods, it worked just fine. Go figure.
