Run into some Giant Radscorpions (AKA: Tanks) with some Cazadors (AKA: Armored Air Support)? Yeah, I did that too. Stealth Boys are the only reason I got through it.Kharloth said:Heading north of goodsprings at lvl 8.
Bad idea.

You make a very good point. You know what, I agree!skennedy929 said:I disagree!zala-taichou said:Probably my fault for straying off the roads, but you really shouldn't be able to encounter Deathclaws at level 5...
You are exploring a world, my friend. Filled with monsters that guard their wares.
I think having Deathclaws wait it out until you are powerful enough to face them ruins the immersion. I found the quarry camp early-on in the game and kept heading forward. I was greeted by an Adult Deathclaw and promptly ass-raped. Guess I can go back soon now that I've leveled up and bought some sweet-ass weapons. That's what this game is all about. Like Zelda, can you enter any dungeon right off the bat and look around? No. Some things have to be off-limits at first, that's what gives a game replay value.
I think that is totally fair... once you are leveled enough you're gonna go back there and be happy as shit just pwning all of them.zala-taichou said:You make a very good point. But only under the condition that the placement of powerful enemies makes sense and is fair to the player. A cave filled with and surrounded by Cozadors right next to the road your weak character is supposed to take to continue the story is just plain nasty.
Did you make it?Kroker said:At level 5 I decided to head Southwest. Encountered about eight or nine feral ghouls. Ran away to encounter no less than six giant radscorpions. At once. At level five. On the very hard difficulty setting. With hardcore mode on.
Yeah, I've noticed that as well. It's quite irritating, especially if you want to avoid some mutant infested territory by taking the high road.Internet Kraken said:My attempts at exploration are constantly being thwarted, by an enemy no man can conquer. It is invincible, immune to pain, and can not bee seen coming. and every time I meet it, I must lower my head in disappointment, for I know I will not get past it. It is the bane of every explorer; the dreaded invisible wall.
Seriously, this fucker shows up way to much. It's really hurting my opinion of this game. The invisible wall rarely appeared in Fallout 3, unless you went to the end of the world. But in New Vegas, he is everywhere. Constantly taunting your attempts to explore the unknown. Basically a big fuck you from the game developers, as to were to lazy to design the environment properly so they wouldn't need invisible walls.
Nothing kills my immersion faster than hitting an invisible wall.
I'm not bitching, if you can't tell from my post, I found it kind of humorous. I only got worried when some people here acted like it hadn't happened to them. No, I actually like it like this. It's way better than Oblivion's enemies-level-with-you approach.TomLikesGuitar said:Yes, the game is extremely well designed so you can't just run from Goodsprings to New Vegas... Quit bitching and go anywhere else...
Or just level... it took me like 2 days before I could pretty much go anywhere... (ED-E + binoculars means I see deathclaws from a mile away)
So by that reasoning it would be fair if when you stepped out of the Doc's house at level 1 to be surrounded by Deathclaws? Remember, once you're leveled enough you're gonna go back there and be happy as shit just pwning all of them.TomLikesGuitar said:I think that is totally fair... once you are leveled enough you're gonna go back there and be happy as shit just pwning all of them.zala-taichou said:-snip-
Sometimes they just seem completley random. Like they just put them there for no reason. Take this for example;skennedy929 said:Although I really loved NV so far, I agree with you. F3 had little to no invisible walls within the game world, NV seems to use them all the time when then want to corral you somewhere.Internet Kraken said:Nothing kills my immersion faster than hitting an invisible wall.
agreed.Try getting a rebar club from a nightkin in REPCONN.once you get it your like "HOLY SSHEIT ALL U MUTAFUKERS GONA GET PWNED FROM MI REBAR CLuB BIOTHCES"Sober Thal said:Maybe a lead pipe isn't the best weapon to use.
I'm sure melee attacks DON'T work on deathclaws.Too bad there's no alien blaster because in fallout 3 that was basically insurance it not dying.....well that's actually better because now you'll have to fucking WORK!DustyDrB said:I have leveled up. This isn't my first RPG. I'm a Bethesda vet. If no one else is experiencing this, then I'm wondering if this is a bug. 8 Strength, 84 in melee and my attacks are barely hurting them. Weapon is in great condition as well.
