I do like the added challenge the game presents I had to change my combat tactics a lot while playing. But some of the bugs make it harder than it needs to be. One time I was walking along and ran into a group of cazadores. So I shoot them but the gun I was using was like throwing marshmallows at them. So I open the pip-boy and change to a shotgun but after I changed I couldn't fire! I'm squeezing the trigger over and over but nothing happened. I got RAPED!!!! So yeah the added challenge is good but when the challenge comes from the fucking game not working it becomes cheap. This happen to anyone else?

p.s. Anyone know where some good armor is?!?!?! The shops don't sell anything really good!!!
I know that Vault 34 has the best light armor in the game. The Vault 34 security armor. DT of 16. Headgear hat a DT of 3. It is also dirt cheap to repair. I don't know about the heaver stuff but rule of thumb is to go with the Power Armor. Check the Brotherhood of Steel.

Cazador(s) are absolute bitches to kill. They're fast, tough, can poison you and come in SWARMS. I actually die a bit inside when I see them. Nothing seems to kill them, even on very easy which I put on just to fight them. Ive just got past level 20, and they can still rape me through the nostrils.

That and Deathclaws. On FO3, I didnt worry about them once I was level 10, maybe lower if I had the dart gun. Now, I just run. Run very fast, and leave Boone to get slaughtered for my survival. Same with Rex. They are meat shields for Deathclaws.
Sniper Rifle + Armour piercong rounds.

You can one hit kill a Deathclaw if you get a sneak critical in.
Or if you use an orbital death laser.

Just keeping the option open.

In Fallout 3, a group of 3 death-claws killed my father after we had left the simulation vault.

Had to restart the whole goddamn GAME because they were always there, no matter what I did.
Couldn't you just open the console, click on them, and use the 'kill' command?
... Plus he's an essential character.. he can't die.
1.Open console
2.Click on a deathclaw
3.Type kill
4.Repeat steps two and three twice.
5. ???
6. Profit

I didn't, I thought that was a great idea, and I can't think of a single reason why anyone wouldn't unless they're just noobs who want to play it easy mode...0o

Rapid fire weapons seem to be the best way to take down cazadores, my laser RCW laughs at them. I tried using shotguns, plasma rifles etc, but the single shot stuff just can't cut it. They swarm you.
Getting decent armour helps too, as high DT as you can. (Brotherhood power armour, for instance, I take about 10% of the damage from then when I wear it).

Nothing kills my immersion faster than hitting an invisible wall.
-Snip-
-SPOILER WARNING-

While trying to enter Primm I decided I would use the hills that run along the eastern side of the town to snipe the Powdergangers rather than attack them head on. But guess what. That's right invisible wall the whole length of the rocks that would give a great sniping position even though it is very clear you could actually physically get on them.

The salvaged Power Armour the NCR Heavy Troopers use isn't as good at resisting damage as the Brotherhoods versions but it doesn't require Power Armour training. Reinforced Leather Armour is one of the best looking pieces of armour in the game and I think it is available from the Gunrunners store just outside New Vegas. Though you should probably come across a set of that or maybe even better armour by the time you get that far. You can get some NCR Trooper and NCR Patrol armour from Ranger Station Charlie after you have spoken to the ex Ranger in Nipton and started the quest he gives you.

I think it's great they finally made a game where something with the name DEATHclaw is a thing to be feared. In my opinion one guy taking on any form of walking death should probably die a gruesome gruesome death, and in this game he does, YAY! I remember in fallout 3 I just speced guns and that pretty much took care of everything, even with just a regular assault rifle I was taking out enclave in droves. When I see a deathclaw or cazador and all I have is the All American, well then it's time to take the long way around.

All I'm saying is that it adds a degree of thought and difficulty to the game I've been dying for and I wouldn't change it for a thing.

Yeah right in FO3 my first encounter with a deathclaw... 2 darts in each leg and huh? wtf i can walk around it and poke it with a stick. Ruins the immersion a bit.

Fallout NV my first encounter ... ah ha deathclaw much time huh? wtf its in my face after 2 seconds omg i r ded.

Thats what should happen at lvl 3 with a varmit rifle.
