And then the one with time travel (was it time travel? I think it was time travel), that one really fucked me up.

Warlords of Draenor? It helps if you imagine that plot as basically WoW's Flashpoint Paradox. It involves time travel (specifically, a character going back in time to stop the orcs from becoming demonic slaves), but the actual plot takes place in an alternate universe

which was a big complaint by the player base, in that it neither affects nor advances the plot of the main universe

Except Flashpoint Paradox led us to the reboot that is the New 52 (Like it or Not)

This led to nothing but just having Gul'dan in our mainstream universe.

I'm not sure why exactly, but this movie looks godawful from the footage they've shown so far. I think it looks too clean and polished. It's too colorful which defeats the purpose of their advanced CGI since it looks completely artificial like it was all shot in a small green screen studio, which it probably was. Yes, I think that's it. That's why I hate it. It brings back memories of Star Wars prequels. They had the same problem. Too clean and colorful and too reliant on CGI instead of real locations.

And the trailers are all following that same corny dramatic trailer formula that's been popular for the past 10 years or so to the fuckin' letter, which only makes me hate it even more.

Your complaining about its CGI being colorful?! I thought one of the complaints of modern movies is not being colorful enough.

I am sorry but I just find criticisms against CGI just plain snobbery against it. Rarely even acknowledge the context CGI is used for.

This movie needs its CGI to create its world it needs it to make Gryphons, it needs it to make Floating Cities in the Sky, it needs it to make the Orcs the way they want them to look like. I don't want Warcraft Orcs to look like this:

And the Star Wars prequas was 10 plus years ago CGI effects has advanced since then.

They should have just gone full cgi, hire a studio/team that makes those cinematic style bits into a full movie.
