I think this is meant to hype up all the new Nintendo fans who weren't around for all the older games. I believe something has gone horribly wrong in the world of Nintendo.

I don't care what the story is, I'll buy the game regardless.

Link with a beard would be fine. Would mostly appeal to western audiences though.

BTW I don't think the new Metroid should be a brawler like Ninja Gaiden/DMC, I think if that's how it ends up they'll have shit on one of their best franchises. Having some action should be in the game though, what I saw was fine as it was mostly boss battles.. But Samus should still be dispatching most enemies with her arm cannon, screw attack is about as much "melee" as I want in a metroid game and I truely hope it stays an adventure game with non linear play (areas gated by certain powerups sure), with exploration and picking up suit powerups being key to the experience.

Hm... I might have to actually buy the stupid Wii Motion Plus for this. I hope that this is actually good, I need a first-party game besides Mario.

The only other thing I was looking forwards to was a new Metroid, but since I've learned that it's like Ninja Gaiden. The graphics in the movie were nice, but I need to see more gameplay, the actual gameplay graphics looked...pretty bad, to say the least. And I already figured out the gist of the timeframe, I think it's set before Fusion, because Adam (Malkovitch?) was talking to her. God, my memory is too good. Anyways, in Fusion, it's revealed that the deceased Adam ended his briefing and such with Samus with "Any objections, Lady?", and the man in the trailer did the same. I'm still unimpressed overall with Other M, I need some more gameplay footage before I can get hyped.

Yeah. Your quote is pointless.

his point was that no one cares how mature the series is and how well made the series is, they just care that it's a new zelda with new toys to play with.

I don't care HOW awesome the motion controls are in the new zelda game, if the plot isn't up to Ocarina of Time's standards then it's not a success. the controls and the weapons and the overall gameplay of zelda isn't what's important. twilight princess DESTROYED OoT in terms of gameplay and yet I defy you to find me ONE gamer who honestly thinks TP was the better Zelda game (and please don't be pedantic by going find that guy).

Zelda is an RPG at heart. the control method and overall gameplay is different but it it was originally made with an RPG center. that means the main, defining aspect of a Zelda title is its story.

I'm most likely going to buy the game because it's a zelda title. I'm most likely going to enjoy the motion controls, but if it's got a story as full of meh as TP's story then I'm going to return it and buy something a bit more interesting; no matter HOW great the sword controls are.

Second, they also said Twilight Princess would be more mature and dark then any Zelda game before it. Majora's Mask was so much darker...
That's because Majora's Mask doesn't count. It should though, it's my favorite.

Why is "mature" conflated with "well-made?" I thought people liked Katamari Damacy...

I don't doubt it will be up to Ocarina of Time standards, storywise (and if it's up to Majora's Mask level, I'll be ecstatic). But then, I'm easy to please. I'm willing to accept some gameplay deficiencies for sake of story, but since I've spent the last two weeks playing God Hand, I'm also clearly willing to put up with story deficiencies for the sake of great gameplay.

The only real difference is that LoZ carries more nostalgic value, so people will judge its story more harshly, regardless. I'm perfectly unashamed of looking forward to what I'm hoping will be absolutely awesome toys.

WW was a let down TWP was a let down, MM was ok but I was not overly impressed was OOT either, I really wish like with Mario they would go back to its roots take LTTP or the seasons GB title as a base do a larger more open world set up more dungeons, weapons, items, ect these new games are to silly off the wall and frankly bland and repetitive(like most modern games to shallow to rushed to casual...).

AS for Mario take SMB3 or SMW as a base a large semi open world filled with power ups you have to use and upgrade to make it though the game sunshine and galaxy are far to gimmicky for my tastes.

I don't think there has been a Zelda game I've not liked. It's one of the few franchises I can easily say that I enjoy every game out of. The game play seems timeless, regardless of format. Even with waggle, it felt right.

I'm not sure how motionplus would play in to it, but I'm grabbing the periph anyway for Tiger Woods Golf, so anything else that appeals to me that uses it is welcome, even if it's just rumored. However, maybe the inclusion of the new peripheral will be a bad thing. 1:1 sword play in a Zelda game? I kind of have mixed feelings about that. Optimistically it'll be done right and play well. I guess I'm not so concerned with that as I am more concerned about gimmicky puzzles that rely on the new controller.

But all real ones are great, and I look forward to playing another one.

doesn't say what art style it was :(

sounds cool. the wii version of twilight princess seems almost exactly the same when I played at my cousins, really didn't make use of the motion control.

I like it how Nintendo have finally realized that gamers want MATURE GAMES
I certainly don't. LoZ:TWW was damned good, but so was TP. I don't care much about the style, as long as the story and gameplay are solid. 'Mature' is by no means an equivalent of 'Good'. I really don't see the point in wanting 'darker' and more 'mature' games. Since when did everyone become so emo? A video game is an escape from reality, so why does it have to be 'dark'?

I can imagine that's the only difference between the upcoming Zelda and Twilight Princess.
and a different story.
Don't count on it.
Any reason why I shouldn't?
He's probably referring to the fact that most Zelda games require you to save the princess. Of course, the major point of the storytelling in the Zelda games is not what you tell in the story, but how you tell it that makes it so great.

This news helps calm me of my fears that the next Zelda will be horribly dumbed down to appeal to the Wii's massive audience. You can't quite make a Zelda game with a grown-up Link and not have it feel like a Zelda game.
