so we went from keyboards to joysticks and then to controllers but I see more and more of these guys poping up. they seem to have developed a way of playing games with there mind.

what do you think of this? is it the next step in gaming or the next step towards a grey coloured world were everybody lives in tubes and the government pumps video games into our heads to keep us preoccupied while they genetically reverse us to become mindless slaves (like in the matrix but ghey).

Shit like this is how The Matrix robots got there start. All you need to do is improve that system, knock him out, and project graphics into the brain... God, Cyberdyne is going to have a fucking field-day with this. Where's JOHN CONNOR!?

But that does seem pretty interesting. It's depressing that we are becoming to lazy to use our thumbs on a controller, but it had potential of being cool.

But I do see a wave of gamers having aneurisms through those little telekinetic battles. Blood vessels will be broken...

I never really saw what was wrong with the matrix. It seems like Earth was a total shithole by that point.

Really it seems like the problem with robots is always that they give them loose instructions that always backfire. Really you should never give a robot that can learn the command to preserve it's own life. Maybe give it a command to avoid damage to itself, but not to preserve it's existence.

Anyways, I WANT IT!!! That thing looks freaking sweet. I think they should make a telikinesis game, but have the movement and such controlled by a mouse and keyboard, or controller. Then the headset would only control the telikinesis. That would be really fun.

Pulled right from Second Renaissance, good man.

Our mistake with Cyberdyne was that we didn't allow them to self-terminate... You always give them a self-terminate command!

i doubt robots will ever beat humans if they rise up. its because they lack imagination therefore even if they rise up with the latest technology sure they may be able to make some things fast and more proficient but they'd never be able to create something new. and thats when the humans will come in with the newly invented robokilldestroy machine and win the day. beside if we did invent something with imagination all you'd need to do is give it a submissive personality i mean starwars never had robot problems. just make robots submissive and make the ones that need to kill for war arrogant assholes who look down on their robo counter-parts. trust me iv tought about this for a long time :D

Skynet will achieve the Singularity, allowing the machines to build smarter versions of themselves. If that happens, its game over...

Don't trust the computers! We can't allow them to become self aware!

God... please let me stop the Terminator references!

ah but grasshopper that was my point even a super smart computer doesn't have imagination. it maybe able to churn out terminator droids endlessly but thats all it will be able to churn out. all we'd need to do is make armour that reflects the bullets/lasers/missiles from terminator droids. the computer doesnt have an imagination so it wont be able to create new weapons and eventually it will run out of resources, or we could cut the power lines connected to all the factories to shut them down. then they'd only be operational if there existed a droid with electronic repair skills but because computers dont have imagination they wont think to put weapons on the repair droids leaving them wide open for attacks from the robokillmachine5000. :D

We have computers that can analyze a human body. I'm sure if a computer A.I. in the future wanted to design the perfect weapon to kill human beings, it would. It doesn't take imagination to analyze the best way to take care of a problem. Example one being the computer capable of defeating a world champion in chess. Its not imagination, its the best way to solve a problem. And we're the problem. So the computers are going to solve us by finding the best way to eliminate us from existance.

Think about all the things we have made with computers. Every technological advancement in the past, say, fifty years or so is due to computers. Now we won't have a whole lot of reliable computers to use when the bad computers hack all our existing computers (i.e. how Skynet launches nuclear warheads on its own because its connected to every major computer in the world).

And if the computer is capable of achieving self awareness and the Singularity, it'll be able to build smarter computers than the ones already in existance.

Holy.

Shit.

Did I really just spend my time justifying my hatred of Artificial Intelligence using the Terminator arguement?

Yes, and it was both amusing and a little sad. Props.

I'll take the futuristic weaponry over imagination thanks. Imagination aint bulletproof.

Unless you're in the matrix.
Or a jedi.

He's right. So we've determined that the machines will take over, those using the power of imagination will die, except for those from the Matrix and Jedis. So the next question is, how are we going to become Matrix Jedis before the uprising?

They're playing Halflife 2. This doesn't actually look that good.

That's what I said when I saw this video last year.
