Man, if I don't play as Ezio again I'm going to be so disappointed. I thought he was a great character, much more interesting than mopey Altair.

Albeit, as long as it's not modern, it won't be absolutely terrible. I'm really dreading playing as the one dimensional guy reliving memories.

assassin's 3 has already been anounced...it'll be around the same time as Ezio and be using Ezio as the character again
That's actually Assassin's Creed episodes, not AC3.
What are they going t odo the Fable 2 thing. Give us the game in chapters?

And the next one should be in the 60's. Get to assassinate some dirty hippies.

More than likely modern day with Desmond, unless they decide he needs more Animus training for whatever reason.

Ass Creed 2.5 will be more Ezio though, and I'm cool with this.

Well given that Desmond is suffering from the bleeding effect this is what I suggest/want:

Desmond and the gang show up at the ruins where they think another piece of eden or whatever is hidden
Desmond has a flashback (like the bit with Altair in Assassin's Creed 2) to an Assassin who went on a mission there (this bit has the stealth/fighting bit and could be in almost any era + could quite easily fit in a female assassin)
Desmond comes back from the flashback and has to navigate the now ruined building (platforming section) to get whatever it is they came for
Rinse and repeat

Also I thought it had been suggested that they might do spin-off games not involving Desmond so the female assassin is possible there. I thought that's why they had the 6 assassin's involved in getting Altair's armour

the platforming sections in AC2 when you had to retrieve the assassin's seals really reminded me of prince of persia, i really enjoyed them. if desmond returns in AC3 i think it should be in similar sections to those.

Totally agree, Desmond just winds me up too much to have him in a huge bulk of the story.

A Colonial era wouldn't be that bad. Though I think one a little earlier would work as well considering that big a jump would be a little much. Maybe the French and Indian War or something similar.

Yaar i think it do be Pirates Creed!

the Creed goes as follows:
1. Rape
2. Pillage
3. Plunder

Avast ye mateys and batten down the hatches for we do set sail for the spanish main with the release of Pirates Creed somewhere in the distant future!
Yes, but a minigame involving rape would just get millions of mothers to bring out their pitchforks and try to raid Ubisoft. Which would be bad.

OP: It seemed to me that there's nothing left to go for the final game except the present. But that was just me.

mhm, he's just such a stereotypical character i don't think i could actually control him for more than 10 minutes without going apeshit.

The, future.

I want the future.

Of course there would be no excuse for death as "desyncing", but who cares!

Before AC1 launched, Ubisoft said that AC would be a trilogy, which means that if they are going to follow up on that, they have to complete the story in the next one, which means Desmond Miles, most likely.

But if they do that they need to alter Desmond somehow, nake him more ineresting. He's just so flat... His reactions to the whole situation are almost non-existant sometimes.

I know, but remember that Desmond haven't been the center of attention in either of the previous games.

It has to be in modern times. Has to be. There's almost no other way.

The only other thing I can think of, is that they upgrade the animus in a way that they are able to alter history, and Desmond has to control several of his ancestors.

Otherwise? Modern times. It's Desmond's turn. <_< Pretty obvious at the end of ACII.

Assassins Creed: Vikings

Big fat Swedish guy dressed in pelt trying to hide in crowds and climbing over "långhus" or a longhouse. While assassinating people with his hidden giant axe.

I'd play that.
