This might be an odd question, but what country do you think is the nicest (in terms of personality)? Haven't traveled much, so can't really give an opinion.

Probably Switserland or something like that. Not England or the U.S. though, definatly.

I've always imagined Canada and Australia as nice countries, but then again, I'm an ignorant American who knows nil about the world.

Damn our education system, we never learn anything useful.

Canada

Canadians complain about Canada, that's just because they haven't experienced the rest of the world. Even Quebec is creepily well mannered compared to the rest of the planet, although they take their 'Frenchness' a little too far, even the French aren't quite that French.

Not the Swiss! Most polite maybe, but not nice, far too uptight (the only place ever I've been threatened with arrest for cycling, admittedly where I shouldn't have been but still).

Canada for sure
We're a really nice country compared to most bigger nations like the US and England.

Not my dear G.B., sadly we are all muderous drugy's. Or America (see G.B.+racist cults)
i would have to say the dominican republic, though i can't remember most of my time there. But it was fun the people were nice and it had some great sights to see and scary animals to run away from.
(i know G.B. is a kingdom)

EDIT: not to say i don't like America, it's just a convention held against ethnic groups with more than 200,000 attending in support of that convention is too much.

That's sort of subjective, though, isn't it?

When I go abroad, I just want people to be polite. And if I ask them for directions, I don't want them to send me into the local slum to get killed.

I've heard Australians are really cool. I've heard New Zealanders are awesome. Canadians...when I went to Canada, the Canadians I ran into were either really, really awesome. Or they were passive aggressive jerks. But, you get that everywhere. It's not a judgment of country.

So I have no idea. I've heard the Greek guys are a little too friendly. Or was that Italians? Or was it both. I don't remember anymore. Haha.

Canada is nice...except when they tip. They're notoriously cheap.

Jamaica was horribly disappointing. Maybe it's just because I was at a tourist area, but the Jamaicans were really up-tight and pushy trying to get everyone to buy their overpriced stuff.

Australians are typically pretty nice.

But I've heard Kenyans take the cake for niceness. They're so happy-go-lucky, and even though they have hardly anything, they aren't greedy or pissed off.

Japan isn't very friendly. They're pretty xenophobic. And I have to agree with the French comment. Compared to France, even Japan seems like Astroworld.

But for friendly countries, I say Canada. My dad said Denmark was very friendly too.

I'm Canadian and I always tip the accepted 15%
I was raised thinking 15% was the minimum for really crappy service. I typically tip 20-25%. But I've had friends that waited tables and said Canadians often tipped only 5%. Hence the joke: what's the difference between a Canadian and a canoe? The Canadian won't tip. (not my words, I'm just quoting friends who learned that joke at their jobs).
