Nickleback is Band of the DECADE!!

It's obvious as a metalhead no band I love will ever win such a radio centric award. And honestly, I prefer it that way.

Of course, metal by its own very nature is anti-mainstream, and in a way thats one reason why i like it. However, it's nice when bands you like do get mainstream, radio-centric awards, like when Iron Maiden won the Best Live Act of 2009 at the BRIT awards. Sometimes, some bands are so awesome, even the mainstream carn't ignore them.

We all know that bands that receive titles like "band of the decade" will ALWAYS be pop bands of some sort.

Why is it that the general population on this site hates Nickleback?

I get that a lot of they're songs sound the same, but what's so bad about them?

...and not all they're stuff is the same, it's just that all of their stuff that makes it to the radio sounds the same.

all of nirvana's songs sound exactly the same too....nobody hates them.


anyway i like nickelback, i dont like every song they have, but i like some of them.


better nickelback than any of the solo artists they mentioned imo.

and there are thousands of worst bands out there, i dont see why we'd argue nickelback shoudlnt get it.

Does it really matter? Yes, they're shitemongers. But hasn't everybody who's made it into the charts been like that since..Blur? Muse? I kind of shot myself in the foot here.
