I hated them when I was a kid but they have grown on me recently. I prefer other industrial bands like Machine Head and Rammstein but I've been meaning to give NIN a closer listen, thanks for reminding me!

Yeah like NIN a lot, the live shows are stomach turning ( in a good way). I think reznor is a bit of a perfectionist, and he should make more albums within one year like Year Zero. It was so much better than the previous, on which he worked like 5 years..

Thanks for the videos. They were ok, I liked the first one better. I prefer nin though, but I'll check them out all the same.

I like "Sin" and "Wish" and their other more upbeat songs

Not so much of a fan of the slower songs but I like their lyrics.

I haven't got round to it yet... I didn't know they were involved in it? The irony of this conversation is that one of their more known songs, Cracker, is taking the piss out of NIN XD
Nivek plays the brother who wears Paris Hilton's face like a mask.
Glad you put a song from SunnyPsyop up, too - best album IMO. DIMD was ok, but Welt & SunnyPsyOp Are pure ownage.

You find Skinny puppy as good?
I love Skinny Puppy, but they've got a larger metal and EBM thing going on... in a club I'd prefer to dance to Skinny Puppy, but at home I'd rather listen to oHgr (a lot of the time).

I liked him/them when I was younger. Still like Further Down the Spiral but usually I would just rather listen to EHC's Kiss the Goat or Satan's Lil Helpers.

In my youth I liked them more. I still have a great fondness for The Downward Spiral. But a combination of me growing out of it and their later albums starting to drag led me away from being a real fan.

I listened the shit out of With Teeth whenever I played Diablo 2, and to this day, whenever I hear any of the songs on that album, I get an overwhelming urge to get on my Smiterdin and rape some Ubers.

I love NIN, and one of these days I'm going to buy/download/find all of the music that Trent Reznor has made.

Hmmm, I know a bit of NIN.

Strange enough though, the song 'Closer' never spoke to me. I remember a girlfriend of mine going on about 'Fuck you like an animal', 'Feel you on the inside' with layers of rough sounds on the background... But when I actually heard it, it sounded like something electro with a goth vibe. I was expecting something more heavy, more metal, really.

I also have the free to download version of Ghosts I-IV and most of the songs seem pretty 'meh' to me.

However, I really dig the song "Just Like You Imagined", I first heard it in the trailer of 300. So I might check out 'The Fragile' album to see if everything else on the CD is as good.

Yeah I gotta say the fragile is pretty darned good. It didn't sell all that well but it's darn worth it. It's pretty big too do there'll be something here that you will like.

I do like some of NIN, mainly the first album. But I'm a bit older and listen mainly to older/clasic rock

I've listened to NIN since I was in jr. high about 17 years ago, so yeah, I've listened to them for quite a while. I think I've owned almost every album they've released except for a couple of the new albums.

The Fragile is an excellent album, probably my favorite as well!

Anypony mind if this becomes an industrial thread?
No?

If you like NIN you might want to try something less pop and more industrial like Angelspit KMFDM, or Combichrist. Or some nice EBM like Velvet Acid Christ or God Module.
Ok, I'll check em out. I like nin because there's so many layers of sound as background noise, and all the songs have such good lyrics and tunes. I'm not really into shitty music, I like to think NIN is quality stuff.

I'd be a big fan of NIN, but I do realise that some of their output is fairly dreadful. I'm looking at you, The Fragile.
