Apparently Nintendo have discontinued the NES classic mini. I'd guess that they want to force fans into buying a Switch to access the Nintendo back catalogue, and pay for their stupid online thing where you only get access to a retro game for a month.

I prefered a SNES Classic Mini over an NES, SNES has pretty much the same games on the NES but vastly improved.

I mean why play NES Metroid when SNES Super Metroid is superior?

Because some people are that obsessed with 8 bit nostalgia. I grew up in the 16-bit era, yet I have a Game Boy and Game Gear, so I see where those type of people are coming from. I'd still prefer your idea, but I am more of a Sega fan.

Nintendo, Nintendo. How long are you going to keep doing dumb decisions after dumb decisions? I don't want the Switch, and you keep shooting yourselves in the feet. Why should I care at this point?

so much salt. i find it funny that you're hating on Nintendos paid online service when we hardly even know anything about it yet.

But you cannot deny the SNES has the better and polished library.

I mean the SNES give us Super Mario World which gave us Yoshi :p

For some reason Nintendo hates the SNES. I see all types of clothes focusing on the NES made by Nintendo but no SNES shirts, wallets etc. Plus the amount of NES games on their VC compared to the SNES is just... wow.

Sometimes it feels like Nintendo themselves share that 8-bit nostalgia obsession.

If so, I can sort of understand why. If any console could be considered iconic, it would be the NES. It put Nintendo on the map. Several of their most recognizable characters and franchises got their start on the NES. It sort of singlehandedly brought back console gaming from the brink. Nintendo and gaming as a whole owe a lot to the NES.

So, Nintendo putting it on a pedestal wouldn't surprise me.

Well, we do know one thing, to access the paid online service I would need to buy a Switch, and for me it's too expensive to be justified. There is another product that I could buy that is much cheaper, but Nintendo have chosen to discontinue it even though there is clearly a huge demand from consumers.

I really really hate Nintendo. They never produce enough product for the demand, and ultimately they fuck over the people who were never luck enough to get things like this in the first place. I think it is absolute dogshit. They do it with Amibos, the NES classic, and even the Switch to an extent. Although at least they'll continue to produce the Switch.

It's trash business practice, that only serves to hurt their fans. Fans that seem to love Nintendo no more what fucked up shit they do, like a bunch of brainwashed dogs willing to take any beating Nintendo wants to give out. Bunch of bullshit, Nintendo has absolutely zero respect for their customers.

Only the publishers. DEvelopers still love us. CDProjeckt Red, those Shovel Knight guys, etc. There are still good folks. Honestly I think it is mostly the Japanese Publishers that have the "Fuck you!" problem.

American Publishers are greedy with microtransactions sure, but at least they put out plenty of copies of things to make sure everyone can buy their shit. I feel like greed is slightly less bad when they are up front about it.

Look how small the selection of decent devs you mentioned. What does that tell you?

My advice is to just swallow your pride and accept it. And only buy games you care about in the end.

I mean I play World of Warcraft, and everyone tells me its the worst thing ever now and Blizzard is Satan.

I played Warhammer Total War and people say that game sucks and Sega is evil because of the DLC. I bought all the important DLC as they came out and I don't feel shafted.

7 years ago I would have been like you saying fuck Publishers and AAA gaming, but after Resident Evil 6 I came to a different perspective.

You seem to believe that keeping consumers in the dark is a shield from criticism, it isn't.

Metroid and Super Metroid are very similar while Metroid Prime is a 3D first person game.

I am getting there too. Reggie says they know there is lots of demand and then they discontinue it. They are just enabling scalpers and they don't give a shit about consumers who really want one.

They never produce enough product for the demand, and ultimately they fuck over the people who were never luck enough to get things like this in the first place. I think it is absolute dogshit. I read that they pulled Wii U's off shelves late last year too (I haven't seen any on shelves since about that time either). Even when they make enough, they don't want people to buy them. I imagine they pulled off their $300 Wii U so it wouldn't be competing with their $300 Switch. Quite frankly, I think right now the Wii U is the better console with the better library but if you could run out and buy a new Wii U you wouldn't need Wii U ports on the Switch.

Yep, some people asking for and hoping they screw consumers over again with an SNES Mini.

Nintendo fans are the battered housewives of gaming.

"You don't know him like I do!"
"He didn't mean it!"
"I can change him!"
"There's a good reason behind this!"
"Somebody else made him do it!"

Big fucking surprise. First, they bring out a product by NOT selling it to the general public, then they take it away. My, Nintendo, how brilliant[footnote]Sarcasm Overload[/footnote] you are.

Burn and die, you idiots.

so if you're not buying a Switch that's not really an issue for you then is it?

i mean you literally can already buy all those NES games through the Wii and Wii U Virtual Consoles
