Wow this has received a lot of hate. Honestly I don't know what everyone expects. Nintendo has always been slow on the rebound. They shoot out a major hot series of games, then chill for a bit. For as long as I've known them they have been that way. Nobody can come up with ground breaking fun stuff all the time. Maybe they are just throwing out some projects to make people happy while they are really trying to take a vacation. Yeah nothing they've announced excites me, but that goes for just about everyone at E3. Honestly I am more disappointed with the other booths. Usually you can count on somebody to take up slack and get a moment to shine while Nintendo is dicking around trying to make the next virtual boy. The lack of good games being announced for the consoles is really depressing.

Yeah I know a lot of people are excited about "something" being announced at E3, but nothing so far has really got my interest. The fighting games I will admit look fun, as Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter usually are, but everything else looks just... like crap. This is the first E3 I've payed any attention to, and probably the last. For me this year and the next are probably going to be a big fat dead zone for console gaming. Thank you Blizzard for coming out with more pointless time sinks for me to waste my life playing during these dark dark times.

seriously, what was nintendo thinking? you don't send the companies' out of touch soccer mom barefoot and up on stage to promote the new Sean White game.

the whole event felt creepy, like i was watching a club of pedarists trying to entice my little brother.

I agree with Nintendo, you need to be original. But they are not satisfying the people that just want to sit down and play a normal game without all the fuss of inovative trash. When I come home from a long day at work, I don't want to 'jump around the room' to make a character move, I just simply want to play a normal game. Sure waggling the wii-mote is fun, but there's an overkill of those games for wii at the moment.

I actually liked the drums-part of WiiMusic, I wanted to do that ever since an early Wii-trailer showed some guy doing that. I liked it until the other instruments showed up. How can you play saxofone on a WiiMote and have a convincin idea that you're actually making the sounds? It;s an instrument that works with air flowing through it, and not just by button presses, try to simulate that. I still consider myself a fan of nintendo, but when I look at the releaselist for wii for this year there's not a single title that I want to buy. Never, ever happened since I started gaming.

I actually think we're in some sort of calm between storms, until now we had Metroid, Mario, Zelda, and Miyamoto kinda slipped that they are working on new titles of old killer franchises. Reggie claims they don't want to announce something that isn't beyond the early stages of development. I can relate to that, since I don't want to get hyped up about a new zelda/pikmin/mario/etc. game that isn't going to be released in like 3 year or so. Maybe they are working on a lot of projects right now, that are in this stage, so they won;t show us. I think (hope) during later events this year we will see some of these titles announced, with hopefully release dates somewhere next year.

Nevertheless, in my opininion 2008 is the least exciting year for Nintendo since I can remember.

Nintendo need to step up, pull something good from its arse and start remembering that not every one is
A. 5 years old
B. Only light and colour responsive
C. Retarded enough to think a great game is a re-release last gen game with Wii contorls
D.Over weight and only interested in exercise if it means putting a disc in the Wii.

I also have a problem with this marketing plan of insulting women into gaming, it would appear if you're patranising enough to release Nintendogs, Imagine Baby/Girl band ect(Please if the last two are not Nintendo they still licensed it) that the female of the species will suddenly forget about womens lib and go all weak at the knees in favour of a virtual pet/baby/stripper.

I grew up with Nintendo but I don't think Nintendo grew up!

OH YEAH! You're not going to get smarter no matter how many times you play brain training, read books, talk to people, take a course. Just don't fool yourself into thinking that because Dr.Whatever says your Brain is 20 that you are more intelligent, Sorry just doesn't happen.

The only notable event this year was the presentation of ra3's new faction. All the good stuff happened at Blizzcon.

Oh well. I do trust they are going to come up with something. Reality check people, its Nintendo - the people who singlehandedly saved Console Gaming, with a concept that everyone around them thought was retarded, but was actually one of the most brilliant marketting ploys I've ever heard of.
I cannot tell if this is sarcasm or not, but I'm praying to whatever lord will listen, that it is.

I also can't tell if the penny arcade comments saying which is which are serious. Because it goes Bill Gates, Reggienator, and Whoever that Sony guy was.

You're wrong, but as someone else pointed out, it's funny that you can put Nintendo in pretty much any of those slots and it kinda fits.

Just to clear it up about that Penny Arcade comic, the first panel is Microsoft, the second panel is Nintendo and the third is Sony. I didn't even watch any of E3 and I could work that out.
Really? Maybe it's because you didn't watch E3 that you think that. The guy in the second panel looks nearly identical to whoever that guy was that was doing Sony's piece, hence the reason that we all think that that one is supposed to be Sony.
That doesn't fit though, because I'm pretty sure people do care about DC Universe online, inFamous, MAG, Resistance 2, Home, God Of War III, and LittleBigPlanet.

None of them fit Sony, and they all seemed to fit Microsoft.
I'm not even sure Sony fit any of those panels, aside from about half the last panel. Really, most of the 3 panels resemble M$ and Nintendo, which is still ironic.

Wait, why are we acting serious about those panels? Don't we know the real order of the panels; Nintendo, Nintendo, Nintendo? (if you still think i'm serious...well, that's sad)

No wonder there is so much hate for Penny Arcade,... half the time it seems like people cannot even understand them :/

I thought the Nintendo one was terribly lame, was reading it through live blogging on Kotaku who sounded jaded while typing. The Pikmin 3 announcement later made it a bit better. Sony was a bunch of pre-rendered trailers, go figure, and bad commentary from execs, again, go figure.

Microsofts was solid. People may not like the avatars, but I'm totally down with all the new features. VGA support rocks my world and FFXIII was huge for me. I consider them "teh winnar" and I know even if they expand their market into casual, we still have Gears of War and major PC/360 releases keeping the 'core gamers happy.

Plus I own a sweet gaming rig... Spore, Fallout 3, Starcraft 2, Dawn of War 2, Diablo 3. Please, I am ^__^

Microsofts was really unimpressive, due to most of their "strong points" being shared.
Exactly, the only thing that interested me that was exclusive (atleast for now) was Gears 2, the new update, and Portal Still Alive (Fable demo was waaayy to short and we get it, the dog's smart).

M$ Wins overall for most announced (Update and FF13) but i think Sony won for most announced but not as "ground breaking" as M$ (I.E. The damn games!)

You do realise that inserting a dollar sign into "Microsoft" makes you look like a pathetic little butthurt Mac fanboy, right?

Doesn't stop him from looking like a pathetic little butthurt Mac fanboy.

Besides, in a gaming context, what else would MS mean?
