This thread is laughable.

You bought a Wii now you complain they're not pertaining to the 'hardcore' audience? Well, since the mainstream route has made Nintendo around 100 million dollars richer, you can hardly blame them. Nin' reckon that the majority of hardcore gamers have gone over to either their rival consoles, or returned to the PC; and rightly so. I did.

The Wii is a home entertainment system, not something you sit in front of and pretend you're using a gun for 8 hours a bloody day.

Oh, so people who buy a Nintendo product have no right to criticise Nintendo? That opinion is laughable.

You know Earth? The planet you're living on? You now have no right to criticise it. You know the internet? Which you paid for? You now have no right to criticise it.

To be fair, they did announce a new Zelda and a new Pikmin. If that doesn't please you, I don't know what will.

...OK, they didn't do so during the presentation, but who cares?

New Zelda? I didn't hear about that.

You do realise that inserting a dollar sign into "Microsoft" makes you look like a pathetic little butthurt Mac fanboy, right?
Did i ever say i have a Mac? Only apple product i have is iPod.

Though, Microsoft is the only one of the companies that can be modified as an abbriviation such as MS/M$. Does Nintendo have an abriviation? Maybe Ninten, Ness, or just Nintendo? Can you abbriviate Sony? You could act even more stupid if you say Sorny, a nice yet idiotic phrase that people got from the Simpsons and not overtime in which people slowly started to realize that MS/M$ is a money hunger corporation (not that it's the only one)

And one more thing, do i really give a shit what people see me as? As long as you don't blatantly point out your annoyance with me, i'm fine, think what you will of me, just don't expect me to really care about your opinion.

Oy, something's changed around here, it's like everyone's more pissy at everyone else.

Comparing the E3 press conference is like comparing apples, oranges, and puppies.
2 of them are fruit but taste different.
Puppies seem to not be for some but most are quite happy with their cuteness.

I have no regrets in buying my Wii. The few games that I have for my Wii (Zelda, RE4, SSBB, Mario Galaxy, Metroid 3 and a few party games) are all really fun and are awesome to play with friends/family, and I have no regrets in buying them. It's just that, well...now I really have nothing to look forward too for my Wii, and that severely disappoints me. I'm hoping some good third party developers come around with something awesome.

Until then, I'll just play my Xbox 360. I can't wait for Fallout 3 and Dead Space.

Same here, I have the same games, plus No More Heroes, I actually was looking forwards to Kid Icarus or a new F-Zero, or STar Fox, or something. I mean, I've been so bored with it that I downloaded Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time from the Virtual Console, and just bought Resident Evil 4. I'm just going to sit at my PC then...waiting for a new one. And Fallout 3.

Since everyone has already gone into detail of how the Wii makes many easy kid games, I will focus almost entirely on chics.

I could understand why women are mildly irked at the fact that part of the E3 conference circled around them like vultures. "Oh look, now there are more women playing the games we've released on the DS. Perhaps it's time we made games for them!" How could you make something sound less sexist? Next thing I know I'm getting an e-ml from gamestop telling me that these new DS games came in (next to a page about football games for all consoles), all with women on the package:

Master Chef
Babyz
Figure Skater
Animal Doctor
Fashion Designer

All in one go. If this is 'making games to make female customers happy', then we have indeed dropped back to the 1970s-80s sexist toy franchise. Because that's all women supposedly like: rearing children, nursing sick things back to health, clothing, cooking, and the beauty of figure skating. You would think that if statistics showed women enjoy the good games that were out already, perhaps Nintendo and company should release more of those games and not 'games catering to women'. It simply makes them look terrible.

As for there being no hardcore, I'd have to agree with a percentage of the thread already: just because it was not brought up in E3 does not mean it will not be in production. There are some good third party games coming out. I am personally waiting for the next "Tales of Symphonia", which will be coming out in September. I also know that Nintendo will be focusing more on rpgs this fall, winter, and in 2009. So while I wait, I can sit back and enjoy what games I have and perhaps get another good one such as No More Heroes.

Besides, in a gaming context, what else would MS mean?
Millisecond. Both the time measurement and the company name are used often enough to warrant some differentiation between their abbreviations.

I've never heard millisecond used in a gaming context, and I've never seen MS as an abbreviation for it.
