According to Official Nintendo Magazine, we'll be in for a few surprises in the upcoming Wii Zelda title. While not being specific, Eiji Aonuma told the magazine that the Zelda team is trying "something new in terms of the structure". Aounuma agrees with Miyamoto, saying
"if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise."

I personally like the fact that they're trying to experiment a bit. It gives me more reason to look forward to the Nintendo press-conference at E3 2010 (besides the Vitality Sensor demonstration, of course. I know I'm in the minority here, but I'd like to see what they're planning with that thing).

They said the Zelda games would be different when they released Twilight Princess.

But judging from Spirit Tracks, it could get a lot weirder!
Different, yes. There are differences between each game in the franchise. However, this one seems to be saying that some fundamental change may occur.

I really can't wait for these two games to come out. Okay, I can't wait to play Spirit Tracks and can't wait for this new one to come out.

You mean like the "You don't have a master sword, you can have Ruto instead" theory?

Yeah, that'll be great...
I don't know. Although Motion+ functionality has been confirmed, so I think sword combat is staying. They could be introducing co-op or something with the new character. I just don't know.

"Zelda"
"Surprise"

Just no. So I guess this means the money piles are getting kind of small over at Ninty?

I'm sorry Nintendo, no one on the face of the Earth will be surprised by any of your franchises... ever.

If its as different as Twilight Princess, sign me up, considering thats the only zelda game I've played (or ever will play up to that point).

... Are they turning Link into a gritty gravel-voiced WWII Soldier/Space Marine and replace the Master Sword with a random gun? I double dog dare them.

Metroid Prime?

I would like a similar change up of this franchise to something that is different but can retain everything that we love about the franchise in the first place. I thought first person Metroid was going to be terrible, and it is still my favorite of the Metroid games.

With Zelda- I have no idea where they could be taking this. But I would like to see just a whole different feel to the game itself. It's why I was so intrigued by Wind Waker- was unlike what I had seen before and was not expecting it (art wise)

Hopefully, they can do something to keep me interested. Cos' while I did like Twilight Princess, I never bought it or fully played the whole thing 'cos it just reminded me too much of Ocarina of Time.

And at least theyre open to the idea of moving forward with it.

Nintendo?
BrokeLow on cash?
Are you mad?
Well, they have this way of announcing a new (old, repackaged) game every time it seems like more and more people are starting to ignore their system. Then everyone goes nuts and jumps on the hype train, since it's MARIO and LINK, which are to gamers what APPLE PIE and THE FLAG are to patriotic hicks.
