Well, I think we've established the presence of Nintendo fans around here. I used to be one myself, but then I got sick of paying for the same game with minor tweaks over and over. And you know what? I don't like it when ANY company does that. I hate Koei. I hate EA. I'm not hating them because it's cool to do so, I'm just fed up with this attitude that you don't have to innovate once you become successful. Even when Nintendo does do something legitimately different, it's often a half-hearted effort at best (wolf form from TP, for example) which isn't well integrated into the rest of the game.
Why change something that works? Why, to find something else that works better and is more original! If Koei had changed the Dynasty Warriors formula earlier in the game, they might have come up with something more on par with what the Kingdom Under Fire Xbox games have.
Pong
works. How much would it suck if a company kept making Pong over and over, only updating the graphics, controls and adding slight gameplay tweaks every so often?
I don't HATE Nintendo games, I just feel very indifferent to them by this point. I've seen and done it all before, why should I do it again? Wind Waker was probably the most "unique" Zelda in a while (maybe since the Oracle games, but Capcom made those so Ninty gets little to no credit), but I really didn't care for WW. I found it stupidly easy and fairly uninteresting. I certainly don't hate Zelda. The older Zeldas were great. But you know what? I say we've already seen the best the series has to offer. I don't think it's ever going to top Link to the Past, Link's Awakening... Probably not even Ocarina of Time.
I like Chrono Trigger, but that doesn't mean I want Square to make 10 more CT games, know what I'm saying?
