Wow, guy has a differing opinion and actually explains why, and from that one instance you won't ever trust him again. Harsh.
Yes, and I'm curious as to who you meant when you said that, because the "you" in that comment is clearly not me.

But we're agreed, that is harsh. Never trusting someone based on a differing opinion would be a bad thing.

You said this on page one post 30: All this video said to me is "never trust Girard's opinion again."

So yes, the "you" is meaning you. You said you would never trust his opinion again, unless I'm misunderstanding something?

Weirdly enough, even the screencap doesn't say "because I disagree with him."

Honestly, I don't know why you think this helps your case. If anything, your screencap validates what I said: you made up an argument and attributed it to me.

@Something_Amyss Why exactly are you never trusting Girard's opinion again? Was he just blatantly lieing?

Ok, now I finally played the game, and...its good. Most of the hate comes from lazy people who don't want games that actually use unique tech do do anything new. Its certainly slower than 64 since it introduces a bunch of new vehicles, and it certainly is the weak point of the games, with some tweaking in future games those parts can be fun too. Its weird that its like, a remake/reboot of 64 since I don't know what old info I can and cant use, since the first mission is clearly the first from 64. Also a lot of the game might not be apparent till I play a second go through, since I don't know what is mandatory or what I did cause I did poor/well in a level.

I just hope that Star Fox becomes a more supported series cause I really want to see it advance further and tackle newer ideas including the plot. (One of the best parts of Assault even if the game itself was only ok)

I mean they could've done something new with it that wasn't horrible and a ***** to control. And I highly doubt it's laziness. Probably more of 'how could they have fucked up the controls this badly and not notice during testing'

I guess I'm just that good that I didn't have much trouble with it. They need to work on keeping it synced or whatever, cause I do have to press Y a lot to realign, but atleast its right there.

Skill doesn't necessarily excuse bad game design.

I just read a bit of news where the producer of the new Legend of Zelda (Wii U/NX) claimed that the game is a "Clean break from the series conventions of previous games"

I will admit that given how their previous track record of mixing things up has gone with Metroid and now Starfox, this is somewhat worrisome, Nintendo is too much in love with gimmicks and I wouldn't put it past them to attempt to support the weight of one of their flagship games upon a gimmick they are trying hard to push mainstream.

Now I am a big believer in "let's wait and see before we judge too harshly" but I admit I'm really holding my breath on this one.

(for some reason I can't get the quoting to work) @Something_Amyss you said the video told you to never trust his opinion again. I never used the word disagree, but where I come from, this means as you said, you don't trust his opinion. I haven't made an argument up, you replied to my first post in this thread with that exact phrase. The screencap doesn't say "because I disagree with him" anywhere because it says you will "never trust Girard's opinion again." Which means, you won't trust him due to his opinion on it, doesn't that mean you disagree with him? Otherwise, why would you no longer trust him?

I'm not trying to make up an argument here, it was more than a week ago that I responded to your quote saying it was harsh. You brought this up over a week later for some reason, and it's just left me confused.

EDIT: This whole thing is pointless anyway, lets just not continue, there's no real discussion here. I'll just leave you to it I guess.

i didn't have trouble with it either.

you're just mad they didn't give you the "same old shit" you're used to and if they did, you'd just whinge about Nintendo "Rehashing" Starfox instead.

just because it's too hard for you to wrap your head around, doesn't mean it's too hard for others or "bad game design" as you say
