I'm disregarding getting a few games (Rocket League, FIFA, Sonic, WWE) and acting like that's some accomplishment over getting all the games.

it's a much bigger accomplishment than getting pretty much nothing at all like the Wii U got in terms of 3rd Party.


you just won't be satisfied and will keep complaining until you get EVERY 3rd Party game you want.


like i said. what Switch currently has is much better than getting absolutely nothing in terms of 3rd Party support like what Wii U had. baby steps. Nintendo still needs to gain devs trust back first. You're never going to go straight from getting nothing at all to getting EVERYTHING immediately like you want. you're just being too impatient.

Wii U got some decent support early on when it was on par power-wise with the current systems (PS3/360) because it's much easier to port games if the system you're porting to has about the same or greater power. Then, a year later PS4/Xbone came out, which gamers, developers, and Nintendo all knew. Developers were already making games for "next-gen" when the Wii U came out. There was a steep steep drop off in support after Wii U's 1st year because of that alone.

It's not rocket science to get 3rd party support. Microsoft did it with their 1st console. The 1st step is to put out a piece of hardware on par with the current generation. Nintendo has failed 3 times in a row with Step 1. The Wii sold more than PS3 and 360, and got no 3rd party support because they made a Gamecube with motion controls instead of a next-gen system like everyone else.

Nintendo has shown over and over they are not interested in getting such support to gamers and developers, they have carved out their little market and make money, they are content. Why do you think anything is going to change when Nintendo doesn't change? A system is only as good as its library, and the Switch is going to have a standard post-Gamecube Nintendo system library.

Even if Nintendo literally does everything they can possibly do to get support for the Switch, the support just won't and literally can't be there because Nintendo failed Step 1 again.

The fact that you have to list the games the Switch gets says it all. With the 3 other platforms, you list the games they don't get because that's a far shorter list.

probably not when you include postage costs but hey, you're lucky it even gets sold for $300 over in the US in the first place. it sells for $469 at the standard RRP over here in Australia.

it always makes me laugh when Americans complain about how much their videogames cost. you guys have it much cheaper than the rest of the world. either pay the postage costs and import one or just be patient and wait to find one in store. i did see news stories about Gamestop recently getting restocked over in the US.

hell both the holiday season and Mario Odyssey is coming up which means Nintendo is bound to do an even larger restock of systems in a month or 2

I detailed why the Switch won't get support already and it has nothing to do with buying the few 3rd party games it gets. Buying DQ11 isn't going to get Squeenix to put FF15 or Kingdom Hearts 3 on the Switch because the Switch just can't play them, that's the problem. The problem is Nintendo releasing shit hardware that literally can't play the games. Maybe if all you Nintendo fanboys stop supporting Nintendo, they will release a real console or stop making hardware so everyone can enjoy their franchises. You're right, money does talk and it's currently telling Nintendo to keep doing what they're doing.

I've come to realize that it's almost required someone give a trigger warning whenever Nintendo is mentioned. It's like there's an unusual amount of people who got bullied by a Gamecube as children

Anyway, the system has been off to a good start ever since launch and at this rate it's likely to hit close to 10 million by the year's end. My only concern is for next year as the launch year has thus far given the system BotW, MK8 Deluxe, Arms, and Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade 2, Pokken DX, Fire Emblem Warriors, Super Mario Odyssey are still slated for this year. My worry is that the first party lineup will be thin for next year, but if they build enough of a base I guess it could barely matter.
