Well the Wii should have something good coming soon. With the markets the way that they are if Nintendo wants to say alive they need to start cranking out the games.

Dear Nintendo, You have expanded your consumer base now, Fix your online system, release more games that do not include 1. fitness (I'll go outside) 2. Hannah Montana
You missed all the petz games and party games.

Also, 2 games that give me hope are Madworld and No more heroes 2.

But is there really anything wrong with "casual" gaming?
There is when 90% of all casual titles are huge piles of shit.
So is 90% of the Hardcore games - have we forgotten Haze, Too Human, Turok, Kane and Lynch, Timeshift, Legendary, Fracture, Golden Axe, and I could go on?

The problem of course is, that 'back in the day' 100% of games were mildly aimed at the 'core' audience. However, now 90% of that is casual, so 90% of the casual games are shit. *And* 90% of the 10% of games are shit. So, for those, to use Nintendo's E3 terminology, who are 'core gamers'. With some quick maths, 10% of all games arn't shit, but, all of those misfires, all of those things we can play and shake our heads at (without the knowledge that it's a casual spitout) are (for the most part) abscent. Bring back the misfired shit!

Well for a $250 system, it has enough games that make me feel it was a justified price. Metroid, Zelda, Trauma Center, No More Heroes, Fire Emblem, Red Steel, RE4, etc. The 360 may have more games, but it is also more expensive. I think they balance each other out. Not trying to defend Nintendo though. They could use some more games for the veteren crowd and get a decent online service. I don't mind having a crappy but free online service, but we should at least have an option to pay for a better one.

Oh yes, talk about a required course. Lord knows its more important than all other courses in school.

I own a PS3 and a Nintendo Wii, nothing against the XBox 360 (having the three seems a bit extreme). There are plenty of very good games out there for the Nintendo Wii, games for the casual gamer and the hardcore gamer. Here's a list of the games I own to serve as an example:

1. Super Mario Galaxy (a bit kiddie but a very fun and high quality game)
2. Mario Kart Wii (very fun multiplayer and great online support)
3. No More Heroes (for the hardcore gamer, and cooler than most games out there)
4. Metroid Prime 3 (simply beautiful, for hardcore gamers) Just for the record, Samus Aran as a movie character is way more interesting than Master Chief.
5. Madden 09 All Play (not better graphics that the PS3 or 360 versions but it's more fun, and with enough depth to please a football fan)
6. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (a game that lives up to its name, a revolution for soccer videogames due to the great control scheme that's impossible to emulate right now on the other sistems)
7. Wii Fit (come on, it's the only way a hardcore gamer could do some workout)
8. Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero III (loads of fun at parties and the like)
9. World Of Goo (that's an instant classic and shows that the WiiWare games have potential)

And the upcoming games do look promising (The Conduit, MadWorld, No More Heroes 2, and more).

I think the Nintendo Wii is the easy target for hardcore gamers due to its lack of graphical power compared to the other consoles. But there are fun games, and not just for casual gamers.

Enh, that's how I feel about my 360.

I'm pretty sure if I owned a PS3 I'd treat it that way, too (well, maybe it would see some life as a BluRay player).

The last console I actually enjoyed using was the PS2.

The PS2 and 1 are gods amongst consoles.

Yes, Revolution it sure wasn't. But as disappointing as the Wii might have been for all affectionate Nintendo gamers, it does have its merits. I abandoned it for a year after I got my Xbox 360 this time last year. I got No More Heroes for ?20, got Animal Crossing as a gift and downloaded World of Goo.

Right now I feel pretty happy with my gaming on the console. It's a first for the gaming industry though, we must admit. It has no middle ground, like PS2 had, which also had shovelware by the hundreds AND great harder and more intuitive games. The Wii, now, has the extremely casual games and the extremely hardcore games (which are, not coincidentally, the most obscure ones for it).
