$300 PSPGo - People: this is over-priced!
$300($298) 3DS - People:Alright thats cool. :p

I mean I know technicaly the PSPGo wasn't new tech like the 3DS is, but still.
I know right? Especially since we, the consumer don't even know what the 3D effect looks like yet.

Double Standards for the win!!!!
Sure we do. You just had to go to E3 and wait in line.

The 3DS is new tech anyway even without the 3D effect. It isn't just "a 3D DS," it's the successor to the DS that happens to have 3D capabilities.

The comparison to the PSPgo (which you seem really hung up on, by the way) would work better if it had been a PSP2go or if this were the DS-3D. One was new hardware, the other was the exact same hardware with a (poorly implemented) gimmick.

If we act disappointed they might cancel the cool new technology: "We didn't meet their expectations. Fuck it; they won't buy it".

Almost $300? F that. I never pay more than $120 for any handheld.
What mysterious handhelds are you purchasing that only cost 120 dollars? And what year are you living in? Are you posting that from the past?

Has anyone noticed how eerily similar people are reacting to this in the same way as the PS3's original pricepoint?

And what did the DSi cost again? 250 without the trade in deal? Or am I wrong?

Also what's with all the hypocrites here? "I won't buy a handheld that costs as much as a console"? If you bought a DS when it first came out, a DSi when it first came out, or a PSP when it first came out, YOU BOUGHT A HANDHELD THAT COST AS MUCH AS A CONSOLE.

No, I'm from the future. When I have stuff to trade in and the price has dropped significantly. No, the Mets still haven't won a World Series.

I don't see much of a reason to trade in my DS that I like just fine. I never bought the lite and I don't buy into the upgrade every year thing. People always yak about MS finding new ways to hustle folk out of their hard earned cash but say nothing about Nintendo's very obvious Apple/iPhone/iPod-like re-release of a handheld device with a slight new upgrade here and there.
Not saying its a bad thing, but do we really need a new DS every year or every other year?

Well played sir. *Claps approvingly*

And Henritje you're joking right? You think that's a lot for a handheld? Wow YOU sir must be the one living in the past. Sorry I had you confused with him 2xDouble.

It doesn't matter what price they make it. I'll buy it as soon as I can afford it. And that's not gonna be for a loooooooooong time...

I can't believe anyone is considering buying this at release. I figured you'd at least wait three months for the 3DSXL lite turbo.

Wait a couple months, it'll go down quite a bit after the first influx of buyers, I feel.

Release day: Nintendo 3DS sells 33 million worldwide on launch day

Nintendo: After the great success of the Nintendo 3DS we have started plans on the Nintendo 3Dii with actual responsive motion control, it will probably be priced around $500! Also in a few months for an extra $50 you can have the 3DS lite! And you will buy it, why will you buy it? Because Shigeru said so.

Oh Nintendo you coy bastards

If it's 300 USD, I won't buy it. I could have a PS3 or a 360 for that same amount. 300 damn dollars for a handheld? I don't care if it's 3D. If you think this is an acceptable price then you're a crazy!
