No, I did not use the search bar! And I'm proud.

Actually, we only yell about the Search Bar for threads that are done over and over again. To me, if a thread with a similar subject was made over a month ago, then it is fair game.

Use the search bar, people complain about people saying "use the search bar" all the time.

We had two people ask this question last week and both threads were on the same page: Who is stronger, Protype's infected or Left 4 Dead's zombies.
In that case, you kind of just wonder what are the chances of two people coming in and asking the same question in a short span about two games that have been out for a while.

I never use the search bar before making a thread, because I've never actually made one. I have used it a few times to look something up though.

Personally I find people crying "Use the search bar!" to be as annoying as the ones who post only to say "Report and move on", which is itself violating the rule you're posting about Einstein. The worst part is the folks who do that all think alike, so there will probably be a half dozen posts that just say that, because none of them ever take the time to notice somebody already said that (not that anyone should have in the first place).

I've done something like that before, someone made a thread and I liked the premise, so I bookmarked it. About 3 or so hours later, I'd forgotten all about the thread and made one of my own using the same idea. I felt like a huge tool.

It's annoying when the first post in a topic is "SEARCH BAR". Especially when they don't contribute to the actual topic.

it kind of annoys me when i see it done in other threads that I haven't seen before (I don't mind if it's something like "what's your favorite videogame/anime/music genre" type stuff that has blatantly been done a million times), but it pisses me off when someone yells "use the search bar" in my threads because whenever I make a thread I use it beforehand, so obviously they didn't.

Hate to say it, but I already made a thread exactly like this. xD
It was ages ago though.

And yeah, I generally do. I guess it's polite.
Though I don't make threads that often.

Am I sick of the search bar rule?

NO

I've seen too many of my threads not or barely get off the ground to be apathetic about it.

Is anyone else here sick of people screaming "SEARCH BAR" at the slightest hint that a thread may not be completely unique? Or am I just being dramatic? Do YOU use the search bar?
I was going to make a thread about how everyone should use the search bar, but searched it on the search bar and seeing that I could make the same point here, I'm now commenting with proof that search bar should be used, even 1 year and 4-5 months later.

The only time I use the search bar is to prove OP should of searched it. I do that if there have been a ton of topics that all say the same thing (a.k.a PS2 recommendations) or if it has been discussed recently in a different thread. The latter is less of a search bar and more of a look past page 1.
