Apple's market is split into two distinct groups; Dickholes and normal people.

Dickholes will buy a turd if it was spraypainted white and had the Apple logo on it, while normal people are turned off by the dickholes and wouldn't buy it in case Apple products are the direct cause of the dickishness. Maybe by pheremones or something, because it sure isn't how well they work...

The point of this is that Apple has got to a point where it doesn't matter what their advertising is. Their last run of Mac adverts were nothing but attacks on a rival competitor, and this is telling everyone that their products run on pixie dust. The dickholes will still buy it, and the normal people will avoid the dickholes and everything associated with them like the plague.

Wait! Someone explain to me why I should feel insulted because a company that's trying to sell a product uses the word 'magical' in its ad?

I was under the impression that's what commercials do? Keep things simple while going a little over the top? Like those alcoholic beverage commercials. (No, getting drunk really does make you look like a fool and not the cool guy that gets all the (drunk) girls).

Boo @ you, apple. The fairies will hear from this! Do I sense a magical lawsuit in the works?

Oh and PC, Nintendo, XBOX and PS3 don't have annoying fanbases? They're called fanboys... and everyone hates them.

OT: Yeah the marketing is targeted towards dumb people because that's who will mostly rush out and buy this thing. Me? I'm a skeptic, and while I do want to see this thing in action I personally don't have any use for it. But for people who just like to surf the web and want something that's not as expensive as a Mac Laptop then this seems like a decent alternative.

I believe it's a wireless laptop that has a touch screen function and a on screen keyboard.
Or something like that anyway.

Ah yes, don't know why you'd wanna buy it. Based on the prices I see, you can get a decent laptop for that

[sup]and I must ask, is your new name a reference to a Devil Wears Prada Song? Its been bugging me for a while[/sup]
No, his name is referring to the Tenacious D song, called Sassafras where someone is tripping on mushrooms and thinks they see Sasquatch.

Ooh lalala, ooh Papagenu, he's my Sassafras...
Isn't the sassafras some type of tree?
Yes, but that's not really the point, now is it? The point is... Don't do drugs.

I think so.
It's a plant of some kind anyway. But Mookie is correct, I got my name from Tenacious D.

But you can't say their products aren't good. Their computers are aesthetically pleasing and are easier for newer users to access than Windows and Linux are, and the iPhone is a pretty great piece of technology. I'm also not a fan of their fanbase or marketing tactics, but they make quality products.
Yep, I know. I've never said anything against their products. I know their software and hardware aren't renowned for no reason. Although they are a bit too expensive for my wallet. But as I've said, I just can't stand the "It just works" and "I've been on Apple for 30 days now and I'm never going back to PCs again!!111one" fan squeeks.

Yes, I know, every platform has its fanboys, but console or PC fanboys tend to be kids in their early teens (based on my experience), while it's kind of sad for grown up people to behave like they've seen the next messiah in a platform.

Apple products are targeted at people who don't know what they're doing with computers, so I guess you could say it is appropriate to call it 'magic'. lol. I do believe my own laptop requires more mana to use though.

I'm a Mac user, but this product is just silly. Apple's jumped the shark; this thing fulfills a need that isn't there.

It's not gonna cost a thousand bucks, though: Base price is apparently $499.

I'm ahead of the curve, anyway: I already have the iPad nano!

[sub]That's the iPod Touch, guys, jeez[/sub]

Actually, Sassafras is an herb (or a root, I'm not 100% on that), that acts as a natural painkiller - a very effective one. So of course to the musicians, painkiller = Hallucinogen.

It's a tree, and painkiller is one of the few things it is NOT claimed to be. I don't think hallucinogens have anything to do with it, considering the third to last line is "These lyrics don't make sense."

NO! The iPad is silly; everyone agrees; arguing about your name is more fun.
