Yeah, gotta be honest I wasn't terribly wow-ed by the Jesus Tablet. No amount of pixie dust and rainbows could make me abandon good 'ole Elphy here (my dear little laptop), anyway.

Ooooh, magic?

Will it cast fireballs too?
If by fireballs you mean it will explode whenever you try to make it do something useful... then yes... it shoots fireballs.
Well if you drop a Iphone or Ipod touch from about five feet in the air the batteries can explode and I heard it's a nasty one. The battery in this thing has to be bigger to get that ten hours of playback so I would say there is tremendous potential for fireballs.

To be honest, I always felt that Apple appeals to three crowds: the people who hate Windows but are too retarded to figure out Ubuntu, pretentious artfags, and the people who belong in the "the most expensive item on the market is the best" train of thought.

Although I suspect the last one is the smaller crowd.

If you put aside personal bias against Apple products, there's really nothing to complain about here, unless you completely lack all understanding of the word, "Figurative". No, there not trying to literally say that it utilizes magic, and if there is any retardation to be seen, it would be in thinking that they are giving actual product specs, and not just being colorful.

$500 to read a book, play semi-portable games, surf the web, and just simply sinc with the rest of your Ithings. A macfag will get it, but i don't see how someone could justify the purchase otherwise when a webbook would be just fine.

My former roommate bought this iMac because he "needed it, and a PC isn't good enough". But all I've seen is him reading emails, going to facebook, editing a website and using photoshop.

Um could you clarify this for me? I think I might be too dumb for this thread.
www.apple.com.au

The first thing on the front of the page.
Oh that iPad thing. Oh well another Apple product that will sell like hotcakes what else is new right?
This. Working for PC World briefly, the demand for Macbooks was absolutely insane over Christmas. It's gonna be all the rage and I'm gonna have to spend a majority of my shifts telling people no, we don't have "that new Apple thingy".

Personally, I'd never purchase anything from Apple because they have an irritating fanbase and obnoxious marketing.
Oh and PC, Nintendo, XBOX and PS3 don't have annoying fanbases? They're called fanboys... and everyone hates them.

OT: Yeah the marketing is targeted towards dumb people because that's who will mostly rush out and buy this thing. Me? I'm a skeptic, and while I do want to see this thing in action I personally don't have any use for it. But for people who just like to surf the web and want something that's not as expensive as a Mac Laptop then this seems like a decent alternative.
I think the fanboy thing is more deep than a bunch of mindless people who pay ridiculous amounts of money for the same thing over and over.
well maybe not but the roots of it is more to do with which they got 1st and rolled with it. With games, which one is better is an arbritary opinion, though with apple, they really dumb it down and go for the mindless fools.
I mean computer=magic, come on.

I'd only shell out the money that apple prices their products at if they sang danced did my essays for me, read my mind and spit of pixie dust. I can't even afford a basic ipod, but i'm happy with my zen which does exactly the same thing anyway. Also i don't think there is a market for something like that, they were all the rage a few years back but they never hit off the ground like the PDA thingies which phones just replaced anywho.
Edit: also could you imagine the scratched you'd get on that thing and the finger marks, imagine the finger marks.
