No iPhone 5 Announced, 4S Goes Sprint

So it's $200 for the 16GB and $300 for the 32GB one. Why are you paying 100$ for 20GB?

iPhone 5 will have a new design, beefed up specs means an "s" on the end.

Argh I was hoping for a bigger evollution. Slapping an A5 into the ip4 body is pretty lame. When you have exynos SGSII's from six months ago still being up to par.... And this phone has to last till at least june. Yikes! No LTE no WiMax, no NFC, no HDMI and still the same tiny 3.5 in form factor Maybe the Prime will be the evolution in phone tech I'm looking for.

If you watch the keynote you'll see it has download speeds equivelent to what competitors are calling 4G (correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe that means LTE). Also with an adapter you get HDMI

It does support hspa+ which is kind of a placeholder till At&T can get an LTE network rollout up to speed. But Using an iphone on verizon or sprint is kinda shooting yourself in the foot as the CDMA network speed is slow as heck. Apple irks me that they leave out basic functionality that should be included in a premier device. Luckily 3rd party support and Cydia unlock its functionality a lot. (rage) Still no LTE, this isn't 2010 rawr /rage

Perhaps, but I was thinking about the difference between iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.
It probably reduces production cost, so it's likely the next phone after iPhone 5 will also look the same and be called iPhone 5s.

Honestly, my biggest beef with the event wasn't the new phone, which aside from its name seems like a proper update (well, except for leaving open the question of whether they fixed the antenna issues; I get the feeling the "uses both antennas at once" thing was to deal with that issue without actually dealing with it). Plus, the identical case means nobody has to redesign ? or buy ? all new skins and such for it. No, my biggest problem was that they had what was supposed to be the iPod event and did not release any new iPods. At all. And lest anyone think they were just putting that off for a few months from now, they did give them a token mention and price cut.

... I've never understood the qualifications atech story needs to get covered on this site. There was nothing on the Kindle Fire, nothing (except for one article in passing) on Windows 8, yet the iPhone 4S is news worthy?

Wait, Windows 8 is out already? How the hell did I miss that?

I had a hunch. Found out last week by...inside word-of-mouth. On the up-side, iPhone 4 prices will drop on ebay, and 3GS will drop even more for me
