Isn't that exactly what happened??SmugFrog said:It's like if JJ Abrams wrote up the entire first season of LOST, then when asked "What does it all lead to?", he just shrugs and says, "I don't know, we'll figure it out later."

You do know they did do that right? I can't find the article but they did admit that they didn't write the ending until finally deciding to end this season.SmugFrog said:It's like if JJ Abrams wrote up the entire first season of LOST, then when asked "What does it all lead to?", he just shrugs and says, "I don't know, we'll figure it out later."
Pretty much this.darthzew said:Disappointed? Yeah, sure.
Surprised? Hell no.
It`s funny but you are in fact defending them.JimmyBassatti said:Was this post needed? Did you honestly see a need to post something that has nothing to do with the OP? This isn't a, "Are you excited for HL2:E3?" thread...inpachi said:Wasnt really looking forward to it anyway..
It's the second. If you take away Valve's time, and make them release it in an hour, they all turn into Weredevelopers and start destroying things. Which leads me to...Killerbunny001 said:In my opinion two bad things are happening with Valve right now :
1. The love of money epidemic hit them last year when they decided cashing in on an what is actually nothing more than an add on to L4D.
2. They are to much of a group of perfectionists and they take to long to make games. Everybody loves their games including me but we will all forget where Ep 2 left off if they decide to release Ep 3 in 2011.
Valve Time
Go look it up. And why does everyone get all pissy that they haven't gotten Half-Life 2: Season 6: Episode 3? I want to play a new Half-Life game, yes, but there are other things. If you've devoted yourself to one game series that you slowly reach for the nearest sharp object to thrust into your stomach every time the game takes a little longer, you are just the biggest of the big when it comes to fanboys. Valve should just burn down their own game studio, just to do a big "F-U" to all of the crazed fanboys. To quote Blizzard, "The release date is when it's done".
Yeah I know, even Duke Nukem: Forever has screens. But we all know how that turned out.SmugFrog said:*sigh*Sorry, but I'm prone to angry rants when it comes to the status of Episode 3. If only they'd give us a screenshot or some information about the game.
I could picture a mini web series made out of this sort of thing... You should think about it!slowpoke999 said:I think Team fortress 2 is feeling happy it's big brother gaming franchise is getting all the 'vaporware' claims now. I can imagine a conversation between the two games.
*2005*
Half-Life 2:Ha, I have been a huge success, you haven't even produced a new game since 2001.
Team Fortress:Bu-But I'm working on it, I'm just taking my time so I'll be better eventually
Half-Life 2:YOU ARE VAPORWARE YOU HEAR ME?VAPORWARE!
Team Fortress:NO I'M NOT.
*Episode 1 released*
Half-Life 2:Ep 1: Oh will you look at that, I'm so awesome, I don't even need a full game to sell, how many episodes have you made?Oh that's right.
Team Fortress:Shut up , I'll be getting a sequal soon, you see, I've already been announced.
*Orange Box released*
Half-Life 2 Ep 2:So you finally got released, enjoy your success because you won't survive another long development cycle, while me, I just produced another episode.
Team Fortress 2:You'll see, I'll get so many updates you'll see.
*Numerous TF2 updates later*
Team Fortress:Sup big brother I just got another update, how's episode 3 going along?
Half_life 2 Ep 2:Grrr Shut up, It'll be done when it's done.

Telltale Games do the Sam & Max episodes, right?SimuLord said:So Valve makes vaporware in their flagship series. So what else is new? They need to take a lesson from Telltale Games when it comes to delivering episodic content in a timely manner.
Congratulations on starting the 30,000th thread on Gaming Discussion.
Left 4 Dead 2 came out in November.Jandau said:Isn't Valve too busy raking in money with STEAM to actually bother developing games?
