Death is not always going to happen. There are permanent impairments though. It seems common sense to me. Without sleep, your body cannot heal itself like it does in sleep. Your brain will slowly deteriorate because it will always be active. I'll continue looking for where I found the info on the damage though. I found it somewhere before, maybe a book in the library.Baneat said:No mention of permanent brain damage nor death (beyond the obvious "I thought the car was a puppy" kind of death"KEGman321 said:http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/exchange/node/1690Baneat said:Citation needed.KEGman321 said:After a full seven days of not sleeping, the subconscious mind will slowly mix with your main consciousness. This will make your dreams become a reality and have a very high chance of causing permanent brain damage as well as mental and physical damage. Also, with the lack of sleep your mind will slowly deteriorate and as such you have a chance of dying.
The world record's 11 days I believe, I think it's like putting your face in a basin of water, in that try as hard as you may you'll not manage to drown yourself willingly.
This is where I read some of what I did about sleep deprivation. I do not remember where I found other information.
Which is the important point. I'm getting a "Yeah. I am on a drug. it's called Sleep Dep. It?s not available because if you try it once, you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body."
But it's not a "Do not do this you will die!" thing. People do live through it. If you are willing, then it's your choice if you go for it or not.
