In Touhou (the entire series); Pretty much any stage 5 boss is absolutely rape-tastic, especially Sakuya, Youmu, and Reisen, as their bullet patterns are both difficult and gimmicky (Sakuya stops time, Youmu moves at 1/4th speed of light in short bursts, and Reisen has eyes of Madness, making her bullets temporarily undamaging but also moving them around).

SCARLET FREAKING FITCH
This thing's a ***** to fight, and it doesn't help that you have to repeat the enormous cutscene EVERY TIME YOU DIE.
Fun Fact: Many people thought the boss was glitched because it was so hard to beat.

That boss in a Link to the past that was on the top floor of a tower and would just try to knock you down, forcing you to climb up and start all over again.

What game is that from? What sick and twisted mind could ever in a million years could bring that into something thousands would play?

Diablo 2, some of the seperate Bosses were solid on hell dificulty. Mephisto would be a ***** sometimes.
On FF10 that flying fight boss took years.

Back during my first run through Ocarina of Time, I found Phantom Ganon to be one of the more annoying bosses. He randomly appears from different pictures and then you have to reflect his attacks back at him. Then of course I was much younger at the time and I have yet to get to him in my new playthrough.

The mini-boss in the Ocarina of Time's water emblem thing.

It looked like a squid, and was the greatest challenge a 7 year old could face...
Ugh that thing was a ***** to fight. It wasn't so much as hard as just boring as fuck. The spikes were so damn annoying and I probably spent a large portion of my time in Jabu Jabu's belly fighting that guy. Such a pain...

First time I fought Flemeth in DA:O I tried it at about level 9. Got totally annihilated. Went back about 3-4 levels later and took her, but it was close. :(
It had trouble with every dragon in that game. The only one killed (on normal) was that young one in the forest ruins. To beat the final boss I had to turn the difficulty down to easy. Every time my party would get raped so fast, it was friggin annoying. Is there some kind of strategy to defeating them because they just seem so powerful.

I haven't technically beaten Final Fantasy 8, and since I discovered that I hate it, I never will.

In FF8, I'm stuck on a boss who uses one of your characters as a shield, and if she dies, you die. I never bothered to learn the complicated junctioning system, so I just used GFs (summons) throughout the whole game, which worked wonders - they deal massive AoE damage that pretty much kills any mob in one hit, and bosses go down easy aswell... but since using GFs in this fight would kill my own and end my game, I had to rely on my attacks and magic, which still did about as much damage as in the beginning of the game. And I'm far too deep in the game to start hoarding spells to junction, so I'm pretty much screwed.

Do the Tripods outside the museum in Half-Life 2 count? It took me hours to figure out what I was supposed to do there, I kept on trying to take them down with bits of scattered rocket launcher and pieces of debris in the area just before the massive crater.
This.
OT: I had a LOT of trouble when playing FF 13, In chapter three when you regain control of Snow, he's attacked by soldiers and you enter a boss battle with the Shiva Sisters. This took me at least thirty tries to beat until I just used Sentinel for the entire battle and finally beat them.

Xaldin in Kingdom hearts II was pretty tough but Demyx kicked my ass for about 2 hours until I finally beat him (I honored his greatness with my avatar)I'm not sure if it counts but fighting M.Bison in street fighter 4 is infuriating. but non of them hold a candle to Cerberus in Devil May Cry 3.

The first time you fight Chaos in Dissidia, he's the final boss and not that hard. The second time is during the extra "dungeon". Now everyone in there deserves praise for being hard, but Chaos will make you cry.

Other than that, Wiegraf in Tactics, Sephiroth in KH 1, and Ozma in FFIX take a collective second place.

Is it better just to take armour off then, to leg it?
Take off your armor if you cant roll with it on and 2hand your weapon or use magic while hiding behind the pillars to destroy the rubble blocking your path. After the first ballista is in him it gets somewhat easier as he will randomly be stunned from having a huge frigging piece of metal sticking in him. rinse repeat for 2nd ballista bolt and then its a easy kill just avoid the flames shooting out of his mouth if you melee him

Yunalesca in FFX. Zombie, Reflect, Cures.

If you could beat her on the first go (or without spending 19 hours on it), you are a god among men.
Call me a god then, Because i beat her in about 20 minutes no cheats, no power leveling just pure strategic wit. she was a ***** to be sure, but the only boss who beat me more than once in ffx was the astral keeper right before Yunalesca. I eventually overkilled him with bahamut's overdrive but that thing is the real pain in the ass

Maybe I was just very weak and/or retarded, but I had to stagger it a good 5 times in battle before actually killing it.

Doesn't mean I'm not ashamed though. Because I am. No boss ever kicked my ass so much.

SHAME!
