Alright, update 2:

Everyone's famous samurai with a backwards sword, a fearful shape-shifting purple dog, and a paradoy of anime with a game very like Magic the gathering....

But at least captain planet was both entertaining and educational. Please, I don't want this to turn into an epic nostalgia fight...
How do I put this...oh yes.

No it wasn't. It was force-feeding us pro-environmental bullcrap that just made us want to go out and throw as much tarsh on the ground as possible. The villains were immensely stupid (how they got such big-name (at the time) VA's is beyond me), the protaginists were immensely stupid, the superhero was a bad pun-spewing headache machine with probably the most pansy-ass weakness ever (seriously, I know people laugh at Green Lantern's weakness to the color yellow, but POLLUTION? REALLY?) and the only reason anyone I know watched it was because there was nothing else on in that time slot.

All of those are valid points.

The villains were stupid, but at that time, each villain had to be beaten by the end of an episode, so there were no genre savvy ones around anyways. Same thing for protagonists.

Anyhow, if it was better than anything else in the time slot, then it was still entertaining to you somewhat then, at least by comparison.

But like I said, I don't want to get into an argument.

I feel the same way about damned spongebob. I can't stand it. >.<

I saw most of Gundam Wing but I believe I missed episodes as I assumed the narration at the beginning being the same meant the same episode. I now own it all remastered on DVD.

But I didn't see any of G Gundam, I don't think it was aired in England...
I recently watched the first episode, and I think it looks like crazy fun if it can keep my attention.

EDIT: I thought Digimon was better too, but season 3 shocked me with the complete change of story, and after me searching the internet years later I can understand why it got cancelled in England after that, despite news of season 4 being aired straight after 3. Because 4 had imo stupid designs, once gain rewrote everything, and it has only grown on me slightly because of how much season 5 sucks. Still couldn't make it halfway through 4.

was never a big anime fan, though I did like Digimon when I was a kid. You listed just about everything I was going to suggest, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Megas XLR, Samurai Jack, Batman, but you did miss Gargoyles, which is a pretty serious offense in my book.

Barely before my time, I think I was a baby when it aired. Not sure though.

But I do know it still airs on Diseny XD's night show on tusesdays.

Anyways, update 3: the grim reaper, the notebook, and the jawbreaker.

One of my favorites; so glad its finally getting a DVD release.
Such a good show. Seriously, fuck you Ted Turner, for cancelling this in its prime and shoveling more Captain Planet down our throats. Go to hell and take your cheap suit with you.
Batman: The Animated Series, was by far the greatest cartoon of the 90's, also the best
cartoon series for batman ever.
Also Swat Kats was well, there is no word to describe it but it was _____ yeah that great. I mean who ever thought of uber fighter jet flying cats with a overabundance of mechanical prowess is a genius

You've practically posted a video or article for anything I'd watch on Toonami and most of CN, so here something else.

Here's part of the soundtrack to the above advert

90's had GREAT cartoons! To name a few in order of how they popped into my head:

Real adventures of Johnny Quest, Mummies alive, Gargoyles, Batman, Batman Beyond, X-men, SpiderMan, Static Shock, Teen Titans, card captors, cyber 6, escaflowne, gundam wing, shaman king, TMNT, freakazoid, Doug, rugrats, ahh real monsters, rockos modern life, rocket power, wild thornberries; to name some of my favorites. Basically anything from cartoon network/toonami, Foxkids, and Kids WB.

Most of those posted aren't cartoons, they're anime, which is just cringeworthy. No idea what year it's from. but the all time best cartoon has got to be Ed Edd and Eddy. It's just so awesome in so many ways. You could get a kid and their parents together and they'll both love the show.

Ohhh my gosh.
My favorite shows were Pokemon, Samurai Jack[footnote]Also, what the hell was up with the ending of that series? Didn't it end with him wandering around with a baby? Why? That has always haunted me. ._.[/footnote], Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, Powerpuff Girls, and Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Courage was my most favoritest, though. I still love him. <3

You know what makes me sad?

Some of the freshmen, and most of the incoming freshmen at my school didn't grow up with these cartoons. o_O
