Majora's Mask did that to me, but now I embrace it.

Toonami ruled. So did all the old classics from CT including Johnny Bravo, Courage, Dexter and Cow & Chicken. Alas, I miss all those old cartoons. :(
Hence this thread.

I would like more discussion, and less "HOLY CRAP NOSTALGIA OVERLOA- *BOOOOOM*" though XD.

Not much to discuss though, is there? To me, these cartoons have come and gone, and aside from illegal means, it's tough to really watch many of them nowadays. Though CartoonNetwork.com does host a few Courage Episodes, it's not the really good ones that I miss. The Last of the Starmakers. <3
Well, discuss your favorite memories, and so on.

the "Golden Age" of Cartoons is a myth.

It's all about the period you grew up in. No matter what period that is, those will be your favorite cartoons.

Exactly, but as what I guessed the majority of the escapist community grew up in this one, it'd be the "golden age" for us.

yeah, but a lot of people have this idea that cartoons of the other ages are objectively worse though. Like "Cartoons today suck". They don't. They're just meant to appeal to todays kids, and they do. If we're talking about objectivity, cartoons have gotten much better, in terms of production values and actual writing.

For me, the best cartoons will probably always be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Animaniacs and Looney Toons

Well, I feel that cartoons have gotten porgerssively less original and less "mature". Even stuff like pokemon got pretty dark at times, but it made a lasting impact.

The 90s as the peak of cartoons? You're dreaming mate.

Transformers, He-Man, GI Joe, Thundercats, COPS, Silverhawks, Ninja Turtles, Macross, Ulyesses 31, Mysterious cities of Gold, Inspector Gadget, Batman, Superman, The Fantastic Four, I could go on for days. All of these and many many more, all far superior to anything made in the 90s or 00s, all made in the 80s.

The 90s and 00s have NOTHING that's as good, and many of the shows are just re-makes or "re-boots" of 80s originals. If you're going to give a decade praise, then make sure you get the right decade mate. The 80s own all, the 90s and 00s are just borrowing from it.

Pfff, everybody knows the golden age of televised cartoons started long before that. Hell Rocky and Bullwinkle is still awesome. Besides Looney Tunes, while a different kind of cartoon definitely has it's own golden time.

I'd say the golden era of kids cartoons was about 1981 (when Cosgrove Hall started making nothing but win, starting with Danger Mouse) up until about 1997 when Rugrats started going downhill.

Much as I hate to disagree, and on this topic I do really hate to, but it's only the silver age.

The Golden Age was 1923-1957. 80/90s easily take the silver and are WAY better than even the 60s/70s Hanna Barbera miracles, but...

Sorry.

I realize that.

The issue is that I didn't have my childhood in the 80's, or 70's or anything other tha the 90's and early 00's.

Therefore, I don't feel it'd be right of me to include cartoons from before than, as I never experienced them, so I can't relay or properally exhibit what made those shows special.

If someone wants to make a list like I did in the OP, and turn it into a thread, feel free to, we could have a link in each of them to the other, or something.
