I like Scooby Doo :(

But I can see why people don't. It was very repetitive. But, I'm a sucker for mysteries

Anyway, was I the only one who didn't get Angry Beavers? All I remember about it was the ridiculously catchy theme song. I also don't remember enjoying Catdog that much.

I can not fucking stand Animaniacs. I just can't. I've never found it even remotely funny, I've hated the ridiculous trend it started of "zany, stream of consciousness shows" all from WB during the nineties, it drove me fucking crazy.

And it's not like I didn't try...I've never been a person who writes off a show at first glance I give EVERYTHING a chance to impress me. I've gone to see movies I thought would suck and walked out loving it, and vice versa, so I always give every show or movie or song or game or whatever a chance to prove me wrong. Hell I like being proven wrong--it means I have a new show or movie or whatever to watch.

So yeah, I've seen enough Animaniacs to know what the show is about. I know the stupid skits (Goodfeathers, Rita and Runt, etc) but NONE of them with the exception of Minerva Mink and chicken-head guy (his name escapes me) were at all funny.

So yeah fuck Animaniacs.

Seconded on Angry Beavers. I can't really remember what the hell the show is about. 0_o

Rugrats I never saw the appeal of, was pretty boring and I have no idea why I kept watching it.
Ren and Stimpy was gross and definitely inappropriate for it's target audience, really wonder how did that possibly make it to the kids show lineup.

And lastly going to jump in on the Scoody Doo hate bandwagon. I actually didn't care about it at first, but then it and it's MANY different versions of it seemed like it was on every time I turned on Cartoon Network and I eventually got sick and tired of seeing/hearing any mention of it. To this day I won't have anything to do with the series, had enough of it's crap for several lifetimes.

I'm gonna throw in another vote for the like of Ren and Stimpy, Cow and Chicken and by extension I. AM Weasel. I can honestly say I never caught the appeal of those shows, I suppose it could be partially chalked up to me being forbidden to watch them... But even when I did I just didn't find them very amusing. They just came off as... Stupid for lack of any other way to put it.

I don't know if it can count since it is still running but the fact that it was a cartoon many of my classmates in elementary school were watching I'm going to count it: South Park. I hear it is supposedly more intelligent than it first appears and yet... Something about it just makes me cringe whenever I see it. I can respect the writers... But the show just puts me off.

Edit: Oh and another one I haven't seen mentioned yet: Nickelodeon had a show called Rocket Power: A show about kids living in a suburban neighborhood in a city by the ocean. Lot's of extreme sports and some of the things you'd expect: A stuffy neighbor that the kids got in trouble with, disobeying parents, etc. It had some pretty unique editing but otherwise? URGH. Didn't help that it seemed to ALWAYS be playing. I swear they always had marathons running... (Oh and it hit a pet peeve of mine: Many of the clips happening in the opening theme didn't appear in the show. EVER.)

Hanna-Barbera in general, but the "let's just add a new character" idea was terrible. Yogi got Boo-Boo. Flintstones got Pebbles. Then Bam-Bam. Then Great Gazoo. Scooby Doo got Scrappy Doo. Jetsons got Orbitty.
The end result were caricatured, one-dimensional characters, as though the original character had splintered into his show-mates. Watch Yo Yogi (as I did) to see what I mean.

Fangface

I use to watch this a lot as a kid, and I remember enjoying it. I'm pretty sure I just loved the werewolf aspect of it. It came on Cartoon Network's Boomerang channel recently and I tried giving it another go. I figured that, since I was older, I might be able to understand the jokes better. Well, I was correct in that assumption, and I also found it to be unbearably annoying. The way they talk is extremely dated by today's standards and makes you grind your teeth when you hear it. Fang and Puggsy are extra annoying. I'm not entirely sure how I was able to bear it as a kid, but I sure as heck can't watch any more of it these days.

this is a tough one, since my parents didn't let me watch cartoons as a kid(OK, very few cartoons they checked out beforehand and decided were good enough for their kids) i don't really have nostalgic cartoons i hate. the first one deliberately watched on a regular basis was Dragon ball and that was a horribly mangled mess for German TV

I would say yeah, a lot of the cartoons I watched as a kid were terrible. Scooby Doo featured characters with no character development at all, the same with every single Hanna Barbera cartoon. And that's the same with shows like Ed, Edd and Eddy and Ren and Stimpy were just there for weird, generally unfunny jokes without any real substance. Shows like MLP:FiM, Adventure Time, Regular Show and LoK are much better than anything put before, but the sad thing is kids just don't watch cartoons any more so they won't be seen as nostalgic.

While I get that they're a very... particular flavor, I'm surprised so many people are saying Ren and Stimpy and Cow and Chicken (and I saw mention of I Am Weasel which was in a similar vein). I guess a lot of people don't get into the really outlandish humor of the shows--there are definitely some episodes of Ren and Stimpy I can't stand to watch because they're so outrageously gross, but the good ones I find really good. And I guess I like Cow and Chicken because I'm a big fan of absurd humor (which it definitely was).

As for shows I didn't like... well, I tended to avoid some shows based solely on hating the theme song (like with Scooby Doo, for instance), but as far as ones I actually watched, I found Rugrats boring, I never really liked The Wild Thornberries, I thought Rocket Power was terrible... I never got the chance to watch shows like Power Rangers or Transformers but I doubt I'd like them (although I did love Beast Wars). There was also this one horrible cg cartoon that I can't remember the name of, but it involved these different aliens (like these ice-based aliens and fire-based aliens and their designs were pretty lame) trying to band together to defeat some big bad. It looked a bit like ReBoot, except it wasn't good.

When I was a kid I loved Scooby-Doo, but I haven't watched it in years so all the hate has probably rubbed off on me.

Transformers G1, I just cannot watch. Which is weird, because I goddamn love Beast Wars and Animated. G1 is really poor quality, as far as I'm concerned. In animation, plot, and voice acting.

Fat Dog Mendoza...what the actual fuck did I just watch was the primary reaction, tried to like it but...it was shit.
I remember liking it, possibly for the ugly and surreal nature of it, but it went out at like 5 in the morning (when I was awake) so I'm not sure.

I also can't forget his voice.

But the black haired people turn into blond ARYANS.
It's...O, wait...that probably explains why it got butchered.

But, seriously?
4Kid had some of the WORSE dubs/edits of anime series.

Don't believe me?

VISION OF ESCAFLOWNE:
Great anime series, a damn classic.
Amazing OST, great characters, good story, great animation (for the time), and overall a pretty fun ride (until the went from 30 episode to 26 at the last minute thus rushing the HELL out of the ending).

So, what does 4KIDS do it it?
Replace most of the sound effects, edit or remove most of the music, get some of the MOST ANNOYING ASSHATS to dub it, and then edit the thing so bad...
Well, lets just say, I think some of the editors were still working for Fox when FireFly got bonked.

Courage the Cowardly Dog. At the time it scared the shit out of me and I didn't find any characters likable nor did I enjoy the plots, yet I always watched them. Now I have a new appreciation for the show, however.

I don't like Ren and Stimpy, Cow and Chicken, or Invader Zim. I find them to be pointlessly stupid and disgusting, and overall not entertaining. I can see their appeal though, and why so many people like it.

I also don't like Tom and Jerry, mainly due to the fact that Jerry could be a total fuckhead to Tom and not get any comeuppance whatsoever.

Scooby-Doo just for being the same damn plot over and over again. Props to them for trying to make it more fresh nowadays by making some of the things they fight real.
