Hmm...I wonder if he'd be insane enough to make a "wind" block like water or lava. So if you get like a wind bucket (stay with me on this) and capture a wind you could use it to propel things a certain distance, or make a fan or whatever.

The Aether people will just slightly modify their mod to run off the official code and end up with a smaller mod download and less things to work around. Frankly it'll probably be all wins for them.

this. Its ridiculous to think notch would not do something he thought was a good idea just because a mod was being made with that same idea. There must be at least a few hundred minecraft modders out there all working on different ideas

OH MY GOD YES. But we'd need portals to go from wintrywonderland to zeal. anyone who can replicate the elemental book-switch for da secret door? Should the ocean palace also be included? how would the giant elevator work? We would also need diagonals. Ocean palace. Lots of diagonals. IT'S A LOGISTIC NIGHTMARE.

OT: already created my own floating island, with lots of TNT. it's a pain to make the bottom look pretty again though.

Now now, baby steps first. Kingdom first, portals and Ocean Palace later.

Well, yeah I prefer the 2D, it suits the features of the game, its like an old school RPG feel.
Anyway if you buy Terraria expecting it to be 2D Minecraft you will be dissapointed.

So, why in the world are you comparing them? If they are honestly as similar as you said first, why are you now saying that they are nothing alike?

You said you preferred it to Minecraft because of features X Y and Z, comparing the features of the two as if they were similar enough that individual features were the only thing stetting them apart. You then said that they were not the same at all. I'm just slightly perplexed by that. Which is it?

I have already made my own flying island but having it pre-made for me seems even better! Though I can see myself forgetting that I am in the sky and digging down to mine and falling through the bottom.

This is the perfect time to add magic!

There should be a single substance which is magic and enables you to to get to the skyland(unicorns, Pegasuses, balloons, I don't care)
But the trick is that skylabd is a magical dimension which is the only place you can get magical substances to create spells to bring back home.
Skyland also features several unique magical creatures. (Dragons and pixies and other magical creatures)

And that will probably make the skyland more useful than nether
